Welcome to the Finder Investing & Saving Innovation Awards 2020
Finder’s new series of Innovation Awards recognise financial providers that are innovating in their chosen field, by bringing new and impactful features to the market and delivering unique and beneficial services to their customers.
Our inaugural awards of this series focus on the investing and saving space. A shortlist of providers has been drawn together by Finder’s subject area specialists and the finalists have been assessed across a range of criteria by an expert panel of judges.

The shortlist of finalists in each category was selected by Finder’s subject area specialists, who identified the providers they felt were displaying key innovations in their field.
This shortlist was then passed to an expert judging panel (details below), who decided the winning and highly commended companies by assessing the finalists across three different criteria: uniqueness of innovation, impact in the market and value to customers.

Judging panel
Ceri Stanaway is a consumer journalist and editor, with a particular focus on personal finance. She is the former head of research and content creation for money at Which? and was also the research director at digital financial research agency Mapa Research.
Charlie Barton is an investment publisher at Finder. He specialises in financial and investment products, including share dealing platforms and stocks and shares ISAs. Charlie has a first-class degree from the London School of Economics.
Cherry Reynard is a financial and investment journalist. She’s written for a range of publications including the Financial Times, The Telegraph and the Independent. Cherry co-authored a book on investing in emerging markets and is a six-time winner of the Investment Management Association’s freelance journalist of the year award.
Niels Pedersen is a senior lecturer for the financial technology MSc programme at Manchester Metropolitan University, which is England’s first post-graduate FinTech course. As a chartered accountant, Niels worked at PwC and the Financial Services Authority before coming to academia. He is currently writing a book on FinTech.
Michelle Stevens is a deputy editor at Finder, specialising in banking, credit, loans and mortgages. She has a journalism degree from the University of Sheffield and has been a journalist for 15 years, writing on topics including fintech, payment systems and retail. In her spare time, Michelle likes to travel, explore new foodie experiences and attempt to improve her own culinary skills. See full bio
