The 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 4matic Coupe lists for a starting price of $40,200, and comes equipped with a 2.0-liter, 221-horsepower inline 4-turbo engine. And if high performance is really what you’re after, upgrade to the CLA 45 Coupe trim package with a base price of $55,900. It boasts a hand-crafted AMG 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo backed by 362 horses that completes the zero to 60 sprint in four seconds flat — 2.3 seconds faster than its more modest CLA 250 counterpart.
While this subcompact luxury model is labelled a coupe, it officially classifies as a four-door sedan. Its “coupe” status comes from its high-paneled doors, smaller windows and sharply sloping roof similar to other Mercedes models, like the CLS 450.
It’s a five-seater, but many drivers would be hard-pressed to squeeze three adult passengers in the back with its limited leg space and headroom. But what it lacks in passenger space, it makes up for in cargo: It offers a decent-sized trunk made more spacious when the rear seats are tilted forward — perfect for stowing sports equipment or luggage and supplies for a weekend getaway.
