The perks

The Fingerhut Advantage Revolving Credit Account comes with a few benefits, and here’s what’s in store if you become an account holder:

  • No annual fee. Other accounts of this type often charge an annual fee.
  • Average credit score. The credit score required for approval with this account is lower than most store lines of credit.
  • Low monthly payments. Depending on what you purchase, your monthly payment could be as low as $6.99.
  • Credit line increases for good customers. The Fingerhut company will increase the credit line for individuals who make on time payments and maintain good account standing for a period of time.
  • Immediate access. If you are approved, you can begin using your line of credit immediately.

The nuts and bolts

  • Annual fee. This credit account offers a $0 p.a. annual fee.
  • Interest-free days. The due date of your account would be at least 24 days after each billing cycle’s end. If you pay the account’s closing balance in full by the due date, you don’t have to pay any interest on purchases.
  • Late and returned payment fees. You may have to pay $38.00 for late and returned payments depending on the state of your residence.
  • Higher prices. The prices at Fingerhut are higher than those at other retailers, but that is because the shoppers are buying items on a payment plan in order to space out their payments.
  • Access is limited to Fingerhut. This account can not be used outside of Fingerhut.
  • Payment options. Much like other credit accounts, payments can be made by mail, through the Fingerhut website, electronically from your checking or savings account or by phone.
  • Interest rate. The interest rate on this account is roughly 25.90% variable, but the rate fluctuates with the Prime Rate. The APR may vary and may increase.
  • Interest charges. To avoid paying interest, you can pay off your balance at the start of each month. Interest charges, however, will always be at least $1, should you decide to leave a balance. The interest is calculated by multiplying the daily average balance times the monthly periodic rate.

Does the advantage revolving credit line report the same as fresh start. I have a fingerhut advantage credit card account. I dont have fresh start and every little thing i do with the exact amounts gets reported to my credit which is dropping my credit score, not increasing it. If it helps your credit then how is it hendering mine. All payments are and have been made on time. Never once a late payment.

      Hi Barbara,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

While we don’t have any information whether your payment to Fingerhut is received, since we are not affiliated with them, you’ll know that your payment is received by Fingerhut when you receive a payment confirmation number when you pay by phone or online. For mailed payments, please allow 7-10 days for Fingerhut to receive and process the payment.

Please keep your confirmation number for your records.

You will see your payments on your account within 1-2 business days. Please note that your available credit will update immediately.

Please sign in to your account and select ‘My Account’ at the top of the page. On the left side click the Statements link to view your current account information and past statements.

From there you can view your available credit, account number, due date, minimum due, current balance and last statement balance. You may also download past statements from there.

      I hope this helps.

      Kind regards,
      Jason

I recently opened an account in order to help build my available credit. How long will the account remain open without using it before WebBank closes the account?

      HaroldAugust 17, 2017Staff

      Hi Kristin,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Generally, they can close your Account at any time. You can cancel or close your Account at any time by writing to us at WebBank, Fingerhut Credit Account Services, P.O. Box 1250, St Cloud, MN 56395-1250. If they have issued you a card with your Account number, you must cut it in half and return it to them. You may not use your Account for any purchases after you cancel or close your Account. If you do not pay them in full when you cancel, your outstanding balances will continue to accrue interest charges and other charges, and will be subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

I hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,
      Harold
