The basics

You can apply to become a Fingerhut member through the general application form on the retailer’s website. If you qualify, you’ll get access to a WebBank/Fingerhut Advantage Credit Account. If you don’t, you’ll be considered for the Fingerhut FreshStart® Credit Account, an installment loan that could help you graduate to a WebBank/Fingerhut Advantage Credit Account.

Use your WebBank/Fingerhut Advantage Credit Account to buy merchandise from the Fingerhut store — you’ll find everything from kitchen goods to electronics to clothing and more. It’s valid only at Fingerhut and the retailer’s selected partners.

The perks

  • No annual fee.*

Similar credit cards may come with annual fees, but you won’t have to worry about paying a fee here.

  • Build your credit history.

If you have less-than-stellar credit, the WebBank/Fingerhut Advantage Credit Account may be for you. It reports to all three major credit bureaus, so you may be able to rebuild your credit with on-time payments.

  • Low monthly payments.**

You could enjoy payments as low as $6.99 per month if you apply and are accepted for a Fingerhut Credit Account issued by WebBank, who determines eligibility and qualifications for the terms of credit.

What you might pay each month

Your minimum payment will change depending on your Fingerhut balance. Here are a few ranges of account balances and their estimated minimum payments.

Account balanceMinimum payment
Up to $6.98100% of balance
$6.99 to $44.99$6.99
$45.00 to $69.99$7.99
$70.00 to $99.99$8.99
$100.00 to $124.99$10.99
$125.00 to $199.99$14.99
$200.00 to $249.99$17.99
$250.00 to $299.99$20.99
$300.00 to $349.99$23.99

You’ll also like …

  • Get a credit decision in seconds.

Fill out Fingerhut’s application in just a few minutes. Conditional approval is automated on the Fingerhut website, so you can receive a decision almost immediately.

What to watch out for

  • You may receive a high APR.

The APR for purchases could be much higher than the typical credit card APR of around 16%. See issuer’s website and check the terms and conditions for the exact APR.

  • Late and returned payment fees.

For each late or returned payment, you may incur a fee of up to $38.

Consider other cards if …

  • You want a card you can use widely.

You can only use the WebBank/Fingerhut Advantage Credit Account at the Fingerhut online store and with select Fingerhut partners. If that seems limiting, consider a credit card from a major provider.

  • You want another option to rebuild your credit.

A secured credit card might be a good choice. Because you can only get one by putting down a security deposit, it’s usually easier to be approved for one than it is for an unsecured credit card. Secured card providers typically report your payment history to the major credit bureaus, which can help you build your credit when you make timely payments of the full amount due.

If you’re okay with only using your card at specific locations, consider a store credit card. Your payment history will likely be reported to the bureaus.

Does the advantage revolving credit line report the same as fresh start. I have a fingerhut advantage credit card account. I dont have fresh start and every little thing i do with the exact amounts gets reported to my credit which is dropping my credit score, not increasing it. If it helps your credit then how is it hendering mine. All payments are and have been made on time. Never once a late payment.

      Hi Barbara,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

While we don’t have any information whether your payment to Fingerhut is received, since we are not affiliated with them, you’ll know that your payment is received by Fingerhut when you receive a payment confirmation number when you pay by phone or online. For mailed payments, please allow 7-10 days for Fingerhut to receive and process the payment.

Please keep your confirmation number for your records.

You will see your payments on your account within 1-2 business days. Please note that your available credit will update immediately.

Please sign in to your account and select ‘My Account’ at the top of the page. On the left side click the Statements link to view your current account information and past statements.

From there you can view your available credit, account number, due date, minimum due, current balance and last statement balance. You may also download past statements from there.

      I hope this helps.

      Kind regards,
      Jason

I recently opened an account in order to help build my available credit. How long will the account remain open without using it before WebBank closes the account?

    • finder Customer Care
      HaroldAugust 17, 2017Staff

      Hi Kristin,

      Thank you for your inquiry.

Generally, they can close your Account at any time. You can cancel or close your Account at any time by writing to us at WebBank, Fingerhut Credit Account Services, P.O. Box 1250, St Cloud, MN 56395-1250. If they have issued you a card with your Account number, you must cut it in half and return it to them. You may not use your Account for any purchases after you cancel or close your Account. If you do not pay them in full when you cancel, your outstanding balances will continue to accrue interest charges and other charges, and will be subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

I hope this information has helped.

      Cheers,
      Harold
