The new Alfa Romeo Stelvio rolled out in US showrooms this year. Made in Italy, the SUV is a luxury car, much like the rest of the Italian brand’s lineup.

How reliable is the Alfa Romeo Stelvio?
Before you get behind the wheel, you want to know your car is not only safe and reliable but also lives up to the manufacturer’s claims.
Safety. The Stelvio hasn’t undergone crash testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It’s a luxury car that was only recently released in the US, so that’s not unusual. Edmunds noted that the Stelvio has an “overly sensitive brake pedal.”
Reliability. US News ranked the Stelvio as #10 in its luxury compact SUVs category. It gave the car a score of 8 out of 10 for its performance, power, agility, design and long list of standard features, but said the cabin quality was below average.
Recalls. To date, the 2019 Stelvio hasn’t had any recalls, and no consumer complaints have been recorded. However, there were four recalls for the 2018 model. They involve issues with the windshield wipers, lights, braking performance and “corrosion at the connectors,” which would cause the trunk to open.
