If you own a smartphone and an Amex card, downloading the American Express mobile app for iOS or Android could be worth your while. You can easily monitor your account, pay your balance, view your credit card statements and more.

NEW! Amex Send & Split feature

Starting November 2020, this new feature allows eligible American Express cardholders to send money to PayPal and Venmo accounts of friends and family directly through the Amex mobile app. The cool thing about this is that you won’t pay the PayPal or the Venmo fees. Although PayPal may charge fees when you send money to a non-US PayPal account.

With this feature, you can also split purchases with your friends and family and get paid back as a statement credit on your Amex card account. What’s more, even if you split the cost you still earn all the rewards on the purchase.

How to enroll with Amex Send & Split

To use this feature, you must enroll. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to the Amex App.
  2. Click on the Account tab.
  3. Select Amex Send & Split and enroll.
  4. Log in to your Venmo or PayPal account to link.
