Some of the best Travel Tuesday deals we've seen so far include:
Hotels and vacation packages
Travel Tuesday is the day after Cyber Monday, when travel companies offer special deals on hotels, flights, tours, cruises and more. Historically, Travel Tuesday has offered more flight deals than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined, according to Hopper, a flight search tool that analyzes 25 to 30 billion flight and hotel price quotes per day.
Hopper also notes that it sends users 50% more deal notifications on Travel Tuesday than the average day, with 18 deals detected per second. That said, Skyscanner claims that Cyber Monday actually has the cheapest flight prices, followed by Black Friday. So if you have the time, it's a good idea to shop deals throughout the entirety of the long weekend — from Friday to Tuesday — to have the best chance at scoring the lowest fares.
Another explanation for the plethora of deals on Travel Tuesday is that many travel companies simply extend Cyber Monday sales, to capture shoppers who are late to the game. We've seen this happen in previous years, and expect it again in 2020.
One of the reasons we love Travel Tuesday is because it allows us to get a head start on holiday gifting, for friends and family members that prefer receiving experiences over stuff — we’re looking at you, too-cool-for-school collegiate cousin! If you like the idea of giving someone an experience, we recommend browsing:
Note — There's also a hashtag used on social media called #traveltuesday which is used all year round by people sharing photos and memories from their vacations. On this page, we'll be discussing the day after Cyber Monday, not the weekly Travel Tuesday.
