The Corazon is the world’s most expensive cryptocurrency wallet, built in partnership between Trezor-creator SatoshiLabs and Singaporean luxury accessory design firm Gray.

The cheapest Corazon model starts at €492, while the most expensive runs to €1,642.

On the inside, the Corazon is functionally just a Trezor Model T. On the outside, it has a titanium case, which delivers a significant aesthetic difference and a handful of functional differences.

The Gray titanium case provides the following advantages over the default Trezor Model T moulded plastic case:

  • A great deal of extra durability. Your Trezor Model T might not survive being crushed by a vehicle, but your Corazon probably would.
  • Additional protection against supply chain attacks. The Corazon’s titanium case is extremely difficult to convincingly copy, while imitation Trezor Model Ts can be produced with relative ease.

On all fronts, it also maintains the security benefits of the Trezor Model T. For example, both the Corazon and the Model T are clearly tamper-evident.

Overall, the Corazon delivers some security, durability and aesthetic benefits at the cost of a much higher price tag.

    How secure is the Corazon?

By changing the case, the Corazon brings some additional security to the Trezor Model T. On the inside, the device itself is as secure as the Trezor Model T, which is widely regarded as one of the most secure hardware wallets in the world.

The following are some of the security features offered by Trezor:

    • Password protected. Device access requires a PIN in addition to other security measures.
    • Duress passwords. You can set up hidden sub-wallets within the Corazon that you can access using special passwords.
    • Unbroken security record. There has never been a confirmed case of the Trezor Model T, or the Corazon, being hacked or cracked with a practical attack.
    • Open source. Trezor’s design and firmware are open sourced and have been heavily scrutinised.

What else do I need to know about the Corazon?

Corazon is designed by Singaporean design firm Gray in partnership with SatoshiLabs, the manufacturer of the Trezor (Czech for “vault”) hardware wallet series.

SatoshiLabs released one of the world’s first cryptocurrency hardware wallets in 2014 and has been a significant figure in the industry since then.

    In a nutshell

    • The security of a Trezor. The Corazon is built on the tried and tested Trezor Model T.
    • Titanium casing. The Corazon’s titanium casing is much more durable than the Trezor’s default casing.

    • Price. It’s a deluxe hardware wallet with a price tag to match.
    • Limited coin support. Like the Trezor, some people might be hindered by gaps in the types of coins supported by the Corazon.
