Welcome to the Finder Customer Satisfaction Awards 2026
Our awards are decided by the only votes that really matter – yours. We partnered with the research consultancy Censuswide to ask customers of major banking providers in the UK to tell us about their experiences. Now we can reveal which current accounts were rated the best for customer satisfaction.

first direct is this year’s winner, with a remarkable 97% of customers saying they would recommend the bank to a friend. The excellent customer service was a big hit with customers, as well as the easy-to-use app.

Starling
Starling takes the highly commended position in this year’s awards, hot on the heels of our winner. Customers of the bank love the range of features available on the app, as well as fee-free spending abroad.
Our 2026 customer satisfaction league table
We asked customers of the banking apps and current accounts providers featured in this table whether they’d recommend it to a friend and we’ve ordered the table by the percentage score. Our independent survey was carried out in February 2026.

Customer satisfaction ratings methodology
We asked people who’d used a current account provider within the previous 12 months to rate their satisfaction with the service they received and whether they’d recommend the provider to a friend. Our independent survey of 750 current account customers was carried out in February 2026.
We have shown the percentage recommended score in the table above and used these ratings to decide the winners of our awards. Where there was a draw on the “would recommend percentage”, we used the overall rating out of 5 as a tie-breaker.
