A rental car can give you the freedom to see the world on your own terms. But if you’re not properly insured, you may find yourself stung with expensive charges if something happens to your hire car.
Questor Insurance was founded in 2007 and is a trading name of Riverside Underwriting Limited. It specialises in excess insurance for hire cars and other vehicles, as well as travel insurance.
This covers you for a single rental agreement up to 180 days.
You’ll be covered for unlimited car rentals in a 1-year period, for a max of 31 days per rental.
This is included as part of your excess insurance and protects you from any damage costs if you’re involved in an accident or collision up to £6,000. You can also choose to extend the cover up to £75,000.
The excess is the amount you have to pay if your hire car is damaged, stolen or otherwise affected during your rental period. This amount will generally be anywhere from £500 to £3,000, but will be covered if you take out car hire excess insurance.
There are a number of exclusions that apply to Questor car hire excess insurance, including:
In order to make a claim, you will need to contact Orchard Administration Limited via its website or by calling 0333 323 0090 or +(0)1634 382 574. You will need to claim within 31 days of the incident occurring.
