Who is TopDog?

TopDog Insurance is a division of Citybond Holding Ltd, which is a specialist UK travel insurance provider, trading since 1983. TopDog offers travel insurance for single trip, annual multi trip, gap year, long stay and winter sports policies for there customers.

What are my policy options?

TopDog provides several types of policy for different types of trip. All of TopDog’s policies offer the option to include pre-existing medical conditions, as well as automatic cover for over 100 activities. Below we have listed some of the options available.

Single trip travel insurance is intended for a one-off trip or a short break.

Features of the policy include:

  • Available up to the age of 85
  • Free cover for over 100 sports and activities
  • Winter sports, pre-existing medical cover, cruise cover options available
The TopDog Annual Multi-Trip policy is ideal for frequent travellers, covering you for multiple trips within a year.

Features of the policy include:

  • Unlimited trips of 35, 50 or 100 days within a year
  • Option to add 17 days of winter sports cover
  • Discounts for families, couples, and single parents
  • Cover available up to 85 years old
The gap year policy is ideal for the gap year traveller or those studying abroad. The policy covers you for an extended period and a variety of activities.

Features of the policy include:

  • Returns home won’t invalidate the policy
  • Cover for up to 18 months of travel
  • Many activities covered, including bungee jumping and scuba diving
  • Option to include cover for computer equipment and course fees
The Long Stay policy is designed for extended trips, and provides comprehensive cover for a range of events.

Features of the policy include:

  • Cover up to the age of 75
  • Cover for a range of activities, including safaris and trekking
  • Cover for up to 12 months
  • Option to add pre-existing medical cover and winter sports
This policy provides cover for winter sports activities above and beyond what is provided with the usual cover.

Features of the policy include:

  • Cover available up to the age of 70
  • Cover for off piste, alpine, glacier and cross-country skiing
  • Daily benefit if you are unable to ski due to bad weather

What’s covered under my policy?

With TopDog’s travel insurance, you get four levels of cover: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Below we have listed what’s covered under each policy. As you would expect, policy payout amounts increase as you move from Bronze to Platinum cover.

What is my excess?

An excess is the amount of money you contribute to each claim you make before TopDog will pay out.

The amount of your excess you have to pay will depend on which policy level you have decided to go with. Make sure to check your policy schedule where your excess details will be shown in detail.

What is the claims process?

To make a claim on your TopDog Travel Insurance, you will have to fill in a claims form. This can be obtained by contacting the claims company by phone or visit the website.
