The new Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card, launched in partnership with Tymit, is packed with exciting features specifically designed for Harley-Davidson fanatics.

The new Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card, launched in partnership with Tymit, is packed with exciting features specifically designed for Harley-Davidson fanatics.

As well as earning loyalty points on your credit card spend that can be redeemed on Harley-Davidson merchandise, you can spread your purchases over 3 to 36 monthly instalments. Different repayment plans can be set up for each purchase made.

Interest is added to your monthly instalments unless you spend at an authorised Harley-Davidson dealer or at h-d.com. If so, you can split your payments over 3 months and enjoy 0% interest.

But that’s not all. You can also benefit from 0% foreign transaction fees, tyre insurance for your Harley, and bonus points for H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) members.

The major downside is these perks don’t come for free. There’s an annual fee of £120 for the Ultra credit card, so if you’re not keen on paying that, you might want to look at the card’s little sister instead. The rewards aren’t as comprehensive, but there’s no annual fee.

In addition, as mentioned, any balance that isn’t included in the 0% 3-month instalment plan or repaid in full the following month will attract interest, and this could outweigh the rewards earned with the card.

The other big watch out is that you can't use all those lovely loyalty points to cut the cost of a new motorbike, which is a little disappointing.

Pros

  • Earn loyalty points whenever you spend
  • Bonus 10,000 points for H.O.G. members
  • Option to spread Harley-Davidson purchases over 3 months interest-free
  • Choose to spread the cost of all other purchases over 3 to 36 months
  • Redeem points on Harley-Davidson purchases
  • Free tyre insurance for 1 year
  • Visa Luxury Hotel Collection benefits
  • 0% foreign transaction fees
  • Easy to track your points in the app
  • Ability to pay back your instalment plan early

Cons

  • £120 annual fee
  • Interest applies to general purchases repaid over 3 to 36 months
  • Points can’t be redeemed on Harley-Davidson motorbikes
  • You must have a good credit history and be at least 21 to be eligible
  • Points expire after 24 months
  • Each point only has a cash value of £0.005
  • You’ll only be able to redeem up to 10% of the purchase price

What benefits can I get with a Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card?

Earning rewards

Whenever you spend on your Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card, you’ll earn points. How much you earn depends on where you’ve shopped:

  • Escape points (earned at participating Harley-Davidson dealers and on harleydavidson.com). You’ll earn 3 points for every £1 spent.
  • Experience points (earned at UK hotels, restaurants and fuel stations). You’ll earn 2 points for every £1 spent.
  • Everyday points (everywhere else). You’ll earn 1 point for every £1 spent.

Points can’t be earned on transactions such as cash withdrawals or if you return an item and get a refund during the 30 days after the purchase.

Redeeming rewards

You can only redeem points on the h-d.com website or at participating Harley-Davidson dealers.

Each point has a cash value of £0.005, and points expire after 24 months from the moment of purchase. Also, you can only redeem up to 10% of the purchase price.

You can select whether you want to redeem or earn points up to 8 hours after a purchase. After 8 hours, points are automatically added to your balance.

0% interest instalment plans

If you make a purchase at an authorised Harley-Davidson dealer or at h-d.com, you can split your repayments over 3 months interest-free. This is easy to set up in the app. You can also pay off the amount early if you want to, and this applies to all instalment plans.

How much does the Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card cost?

There’s a £120 annual fee with the Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card. You’ll also be charged interest on any purchases repaid over 3 to 36 months (excluding any under the 0% offer).

If you are late with a repayment, a £10 fee applies.

Repayment options

You can make manual repayments through Harley-Davidson Financial Services's app by logging in to your online banking or over the phone. Alternatively, you may wish to set up a direct debit.

A direct debit protects you from forgetting to make a repayment and either damaging your credit score, getting hit with a penalty fee (£10) or losing any promotional rates as a result.

You can arrange a direct debit for repayments when you apply for the credit card. The table below shows the options available.

How to apply for the Harley Davidson Ultra Credit Card

If you've compared cards and settled on the Harley Ultra Card (in partnership with Tymit), completing the secure online application form takes about 15 minutes. Before you apply, check that you meet the eligibility requirements and have the information and documents you'll need to make the process as straightforward as possible.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card, you will need to:

  • Be a UK resident with at least 3 years’ address history.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Have no negative marks on your credit history.

When you apply for a card, you might need to provide further information to verify your identity and assess your affordability. This can include your passport, your driving licence and a recent payslip.

If you’re looking to add to your Harley-Davidson accessories collection, the Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card (in partnership with Tymit) is a tempting offer. As long as you’re happy to pay an annual fee, you’ll earn double the points you’d earn with the Classic credit card and benefit from additional perks, such as tyre insurance and fee-free spending abroad.

Each point is only worth £0.005, so it could take a while before you build up enough points for a decent discount. But if you’re a H.O.G. member, you can take advantage of the 10,000 bonus points to help you achieve your goal faster.

Just keep in mind that if you don’t pay off your balance in full each month, all purchases that don’t qualify for the 0% instalment plan will accrue interest.”

Frequently asked questions

Can I withdraw cash using the Harley-Davidson Ultra credit card (in partnership with Tymit)?

It is possible to withdraw cash on your credit card, but it’s best not to. As well as incurring a cash advance fee of £10, you’ll also pay interest on this part of your balance from the moment you get your cash, making it expensive.

What is an instalment credit card?

An instalment credit card lets you split your purchases into regular instalments. You can usually set up a different instalment plan for each purchase. This can make it easier to repay your balance.

What types of purchases are eligible for the 0% interest instalment plans?

Only purchases made on h-d.com and at authorised Harley-Davidson dealerships will qualify for the 0% interest instalment plan.

What credit limit will I get?

The credit limit you’re offered depends on your income and your credit history. You’re more likely to get a higher credit limit with a high income and good credit rating.

You won’t usually find out your credit limit until after you’ve applied for the card.
