Equals was created to take the hassle out of money management for businesses. Its Equals Money prepaid cards are one of the tools that will help you to do this.
What is Equals Money?
Equals Money is part of the Equals Money Group which aims to make it simpler for businesses to manage and move money around the world.
Equals Money prepaid cards are for teams and colleagues to use for business expenses. Companies can add money onto the cards, track who’s spending what and integrate expenses reports with their accounting tools.
How does it work?
With Equals Money, you can have unlimited platform users. While there is a charge for each physical card, you can get up to 100 free virtual cards depending on your pricing tier.
You can load funds onto these cards or transfer funds between them, and there is no charge for either of these actions. Note that there is a fee for cash withdrawals. Different user permissions can be added to different cards.
Staff can use the Equals app to create digital receipts and add tags to their spending. They can also use the app to request top-ups, which you can approve at the tap of a button. This makes it simple to keep track of your team’s business spending.
To make things even easier, it’s simple to report VAT on your team’s spending and even sync your cards with accounting software.

Is Equals Money safe?
Equals Money doesn’t fall under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), instead your money is protected in safeguarded bank accounts separate from company assets.
What support is available?
You’ll be granted support from Equals’ UK-based team 7 days a week, plus an account manager dedicated to your business.
What fees are applicable?
For the Business Tier plan, you’ll pay an account fee of £25 + VAT per year (From £20.83 per month if paid annually). Account fee can vary., plus a physcial card issue fee of £10 per card (up to 100 virtual cards are free). If you choose to pay annually, you’ll receive a 17% discount.
The Business Plus Tier account costs £35 a month and £10 per card, while the Enterprise Tier has custom pricing.
With all plans, you’ll pay £1.50 for every ATM withdrawal you make.
It’s free to make transactions in the UK and any of the countries using the currencies listed above. In non-supported countries, you’ll be charged a 1.5% out-of-currency fee.
It costs you nothing to top-up your cards or make transfers between them.
