Chase offers the convenience of sending secure international wire transfers online or at your local bank branch — but watch out for member requirements and high fees.
Chase wire transfer fees
The Chase wire transfer fee you’ll pay depends on how you’re sending the transfer and whether you’re sending or receiving an international wire transfer:
Outgoing (from online) | Outgoing (from a Chase branch) | Incoming | Between Chase accounts | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Chase domestic wire transfer | $25 | $35 | $15 | $0 |
Chase international wire transfer | $40 | $50 | $15 | $0 |
Chase international wire transfer (in foreign currency) | $5 | $50 | $15 | $0 |
Wire transfer fees from September 2020 for Chase Total Checking accounts.
Chase offers lower fees when transferring using its foreign currency exchange option, but keep in mind that the exchange rate offered by Chase may be far weaker than money transfer competitors. Because of this, the bottom option, International wire transfer (in foreign currency), may seem far cheaper than the other options until you take into account the exchange rate attached to it.
Chase currency exchange rates
Like any large bank, Chase updates its rates regularly in line with global currency market fluctuations. The Chase currency exchange rates you’ll be offered are similar to those of other large US banks but not as attractive as the rates you’ll get by using an independent money transfer specialist.
MUST READ: Who charges less?
Independent transfer services usually win out over banks when it comes to fees. There are several providers that will send a transfer for free with competitive exchange rates, including OFX, XE and TransferWise.
- TransferWise is a peer-to-peer transfer service that uses the mid-market rate — the same rate banks and transfer services use when they trade among themselves — so with TransferWise you’ll get the best exchange rate possible on your transfer.
- OFX is a global company that offers competitive exchange rates and low fees on money transfers, with a focus on larger transfers over $1,000.
- XE, known for providing exchange rate information, also sends money transfers to more than 100 countries at competitive rates.
What are the transfer limits?
The total daily limit on wire transactions with Chase is $100,000 or your available balance. Business customers can request a higher limit.

A friend wants to loan me $100.000 and transferred the money from his Chase account into my Chase checking account within the US. It’s the third day now and the money hasn’t arrived. Chase says that because of the large amount the transaction is ‘on hold’ and can’t say when they’ll do the transaction. What’s the reason behind this?
Hello Karin,
Thank you for your comment.
Transferring a large amount of money generally takes days for it to be done. Chase do this in order to ensure that there isn’t fraud happening when the transfer is made. If you want to check the status of the transfer, you may contact the bank directly.
Regards,
Jhezelyn
Someone transferred me money through express wire from Chase to Indian bank. It’s been 3 days but the money was not transferred yet. What to do next?
Hi Sandeep,
Chase international wire transfers are typically available to the recipient within 3-5 business days after being sent. However, the receiving bank (Indian bank) may have its own review process which could delay delivery.
You can contact your sender to let him know that you still haven’t received the money in your Indian bank account so he can make a follow up on the transfer status with Chase.
I hope this helps.

Please answer the question about the minimum transfer amount from a Chase bank to a Russian bank Sberbank! They send me a letter stating that they cannot send the sum of $ 1100, but $ 1800 is already possible. Is this true and what are these new requirements for sending funds?
Hi Egor,
Thanks for your question.
There is no minimum transfer limit for Chase Bank but it has a daily limit on of $100,000 on wire transfers.
I’m not sure why you are unable to send the full $1,100 to your recipient. You may have to contact Chase at 800-935-9935 to check why.
The requirements for sending money to Russia from a Chase bank account include the receiver’s bank account information, international bank account number (IBAN) and international bank identifier code (BIC), or the receiving country equivalent.
There are other ways to send money to Russia. So be sure to check them out to know your alternative options.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Anndy

how can i deposit money from Bangladesh to my chase checking account in USA?
Hi Zaman,
Thanks for reaching out to finder.
You can deposit the money by doing a bank to bank transfer or by using an independent money transfer company.
You can initiate an international bank transfer online- by logging in to your Bangladesh online baking account. If your bank in Bangladesh does not have online banking service, you can visit your bank’s nearest branch to do the deposit or transfer in person.
If bank to bank transfer is not an option for you, you can use international transfer providers to deposit the money to your Chase bank account. You can then choose to send the money online or by visiting an agent location.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Charisse
