Santander switch deal: December 2025

Find out about Santander's £200 welcome offer to switch along with how to qualify for this deal.

Santander is back with a new switching deal, and it’s one of the best bank switching offers around right now. From 10 November 2025, you can get £200 cash when you open an eligible Santander account and switch over using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS). You can also claim a £25 Amazon.co.uk gift card with this exclusive link.

How much can I get with Santander’s switching deal?

You can get a £200 cash welcome bonus if you successfully switch to one of Santander’s current accounts and meet the terms and conditions to qualify.

This includes moving to one of the following accounts: Everyday Current Account (read our review) the Edge Current Account (read our review), the Edge Up Current Account (read our review) or Edge Explorer account (read our review) through Finder.

If you opt for its Edge account, you get access to the Edge Saver at 6% AER for the first 12 months on balances up to £4,000. If you deposit the maximum amount, you would have £240 in interest after a year.

If you choose the Santander Edge account, you can also earn 1% cashback, up to £10 a month, a maximum of £120 in cashback over a year. However, the Edge account has a £3 monthly fee, but we’ve accounted for that £36 a year in our figures.

“That’s £524 in your first year, including welcome bonus, maximum savings interest and monthly cashback.”

The Edge Up Current Account and Edge Explorer Current Account have higher monthly fees of £5 and £17 respectively.

Who can get the deal?

Only new Santander customers can get it and you need to switch and close an account from elsewhere, moving to your new Santander account using the switching service.

To qualify, you can’t have previously received a Santader switcher incentive or held a current account on 1 January 2025.

You can hold a maximum of 2 Santander Edge Up or Santander Edge accounts, one in your own name and one in joint names.

How can I get the deal?

To get the £200 switching bonus, you’ll need to open a Santander Everyday Current account, Santander Edge Current Account, Santander Edge Up Current Account or Santander Edge Explorer Current Account using Finder’s exclusive link.

You’ll also need to pay in at least £1,500 and switch over at least two active household Direct Debits within 60 days of account opening. You can find the list of acceptable Direct Debits on the Santander website.

After 60 days, Santander will check that you’re eligible and met all the qualifying criteria and will pay the £200 into your account within 30 days.

The exclusions

  • You won’t be eligible to earn the £200 if you held a Santander current account on 1 January 2025, but if you got an account after this date then you’re good to go.
  • If you or anyone named on the account has previously received a switcher incentive on one of the accounts included in the offer.
  • Or if you switch from an account you hold with Santander, cahoot or Cater Allen.
  • The direct debits you set up cannot include direct debits set up to fund a savings account you have with Santander, cahoot or Cater Allen.

When the offer ends

Santander may withdraw this offer at any time.

The terms "best", "top", "cheap" (and variations of these) aren't ratings, though we always explain what's great about a product when we highlight it. This is subject to our terms of use.
