Barclays has launched 2 switching deals for new customers, offering up to £400. But don’t get too excited just yet, as the larger of the 2 bonuses is only available on its Barclays Premier account. Compare it against other deals in our switching deals guide.

Open a Barclays Bank Account.

You can open your account via the app - if you don’t already have this downloaded, you can scan the QR code on the Barclays website.

Join Blue Rewards.

As part of the sign up process, select to join Blue Rewards for £5 a month. You can do this in the app.

Switch using the Current Account Switching Service.

This takes place during account opening via the app - when prompted, state you wish to switch your existing account to your new Barclays one. To be eligible for the switching bonus, you must transfer at least 2 direct debits.

Choose your switch date.

You’ll need to choose a date for when you want your account switched over - think about what makes sense for you in terms of when your regular payments come out.

Receive switch confirmation.

On the day of your current account switch, you’ll receive confirmation from Barclays that your account is now open.

Pay in at least £2,000.

You must add at least £2,000 to your new account within 30 days of opening it.

Receive your £200 bonus.

If you've met all of these conditions by 25 November 2025, you will receive your £200 within 28 working days.

How much can I get with Barclays’ switch deal?

There are 2 deals available from Barclays.

You’ll receive a £200 switching bonus if you complete the required steps to switch to a Barclays Bank Account before 27 November 2025. You have to be a new customer, never have claimed a switching bonus from Barclays before, and do it all through the app.

While those switching to a sole Premier Current Account stand to receive a £400 bonus.

Who can get the deal?

New customers are eligible for this switch bonus from Barclays.
You can’t qualify if:

  • You already have a current account with Barclays
  • You’ve opened a Barclays Current Account before 7 October 2025
  • You’ve received a switching offer reward from Barclays in the past
  • You’re only eligible for a Barclays basic current account
  • You fail to complete the full switch within 30 days
  • You didn’t open your new account in the Barclays app
  • You’ve opened a joint account
  • You’re not a UK resident
  • You’re not aged 18+

When the offer ends

This Barclays switch bonus began on Tuesday 7 October and will end on Thursday 27 November 2025.
