The Progressive Building Society was founded in 1914 in Belfast, and operates 12 branches across Northern Ireland. It’s a member of the Building Societies Association. In July 2014, it merged with the City of Derry Building Society.

Its mission is to provide a safe home for local savings and to help local people buy their own home by delivering warm and welcoming service. The Progressive Building Society currently only lends on properties within Northern Ireland.
