Expert review
Part of the Arcadia Group range of cards, the Dorothy Perkins Mastercard is designed to reward loyal customers of the longstanding women’s fashion retailer.
You’ll get double points for all purchases at Dorothy Perkins (and other Arcadia Group stores), and 1 point per £1 spent elsewhere. You’ll then be given a voucher each quarter that can be used on any Arcadia Group purchases.
However, the purchase rate is rather high, so it’s not a card that you’ll want to be carrying a balance on, and there’s a number of fees you’ll need to look out for.
If you’re a regular shopper at Dorothy Perkins, or any of the other Arcadia Group brands, then the double reward points may be enticing, but for everyone else, there’s likely to be better options out there.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Earn points on day-to-day spending
- Up to 1,000 points introductory bonus
- No annual fee
Cons
- A relatively high interest rate on purchases
- Applicants with low credit scores are unlikely to be eligible
- Relatively high balance transfer fee
Other reward cards
Approval for any credit card depends on your status. The representative APRs shown represent the interest rate offered to most successful applicants. Depending on your personal circumstances, the APR you're offered may be higher, or you may not be offered credit at all. Fees and rates are subject to change without notice. It's always wise to check the terms of any deal before you borrow.

Repayment options
You can make manual repayments through NewDay Ltd's app by logging in to your online banking or over the phone (0333 220 2503). Alternatively, you may wish to set up a direct debit.
A direct debit protects you from forgetting to make a repayment and either damaging your credit score, getting hit with a penalty fee (£12) or losing any promotional rates as a result.
You can arrange a direct debit for repayments when you apply for the credit card. The table below shows the options available.
Choose from the following direct debit options for your monthly repayments:

I’m planning on using my DP card abroad USA. I want to know what the process is for doing so
November 11, 2019
Hi Calvina,
Thanks for getting in touch. You’re free to use your Dorothy Perkins credit card in the US as you would at home, but there are a couple of fees you’ll need to be aware of.
At the time of writing, you’ll be charged a 2.75% foreign usage fee on every transaction you make abroad using your Dorothy Perkins card. Unlike the EU, merchants and businesses in the US are also allowed to add a credit card surcharge, which can be up to 4% of the total purchase. However, they will need to have a sign notifying you of the surcharge at the point of sale.
If you’re looking for a credit card with no foreign usage fees, you can compare a range of them here – https://www.finder.com/uk/credit-cards/best-credit-card-to-use-overseas.
I hope this helps, but please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Natalie,
Yes, you can apply for Dorothy Perkins Mastercard online, through their website. Typically, it will only take you about 15 minutes to complete the online application.
Before you apply, check that you meet the eligibility criteria/requirements and read through the PDS/Terms and Conditions before making a decision on whether it is right for you.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Charisse
