6 eToro Alternatives to Try in 2026

eToro covers stocks, options and crypto — but skips IRAs, mutual funds and bonds. Here's what fills the gap.

eToro’s social trading feed and CopyTrader tools make it a genuinely different way to invest, and its lineup covers stocks, options and crypto commission-free. But it stops there — no IRAs, no mutual funds, no bonds, no forex, and no professional-grade market data or options analytics either. These six platforms cover what eToro leaves out — five for a retirement account or broader asset access, and one for traders who want deeper tools instead.

eToro covers stocks, options and crypto, but it stops there — no IRAs, no retirement accounts of any kind. Robinhood closes that exact gap with Traditional and Roth IRAs, plus an unusual 1%-3% match on contributions through Robinhood Gold. It matches eToro's commission-free stocks, options and crypto trading, and its free Legend platform also covers the advanced charting and futures trading eToro doesn't offer.

Public is the closest match to what actually makes eToro different: a social feed showing what other investors are holding and why, not just a trading app. It goes further where eToro can't — a Traditional or Roth IRA with a 1% match on contributions, plus bonds alongside commission-free stocks, ETFs and options. Public even pays a small rebate on options trades instead of charging for them.

Webull matches eToro almost feature-for-feature — commission-free stocks, options and crypto — then adds the two things eToro doesn't have: IRAs (Traditional, Roth and Rollover) and genuinely deep charting tools, plus a paper-trading simulator covering six asset classes: stocks, options, crypto, futures, bonds and event contracts.

Fidelity

Fidelity Investments

9.2 Excellent

If you've outgrown eToro's retail feel entirely, Fidelity is the full-service alternative: IRAs, mutual funds, bonds and a robo-advisor with no advisory fee under $25,000, plus commission-free stocks. It even offers crypto trading — including inside a Traditional, Rollover or Roth IRA, something few brokers allow — though options cost $0.65 a contract and there's no social or copy-trading layer. Its zero-expense-ratio index funds are hard to match.

SoFi fills eToro's IRA gap and bundles it with everything else SoFi does — banking, loans, credit — inside one app. It offers Traditional, Roth and Rollover IRAs with a 1% match on contributions, alongside commission-free stocks and ETFs. There's no social or copy-trading layer here, but if you'd rather manage your whole financial life in one place, that's the trade you're making.

Moomoo doesn't fill eToro's retirement-account gap either — it's individual brokerage accounts only, same as eToro. But if what you actually want is more professional-grade tools, Moomoo delivers. Free real-time Level 2 market data kicks in at just a $100 average account balance, and its options tools include same-day-expiration tracking and unusual-activity alerts. It also offers Kalshi-powered event contracts and its own agentic-trading feature, Moomoo API Skills, for connecting your own AI agent to the platform. It's the pick for traders leaving eToro for more depth, not for a retirement account.

Pros and cons of eToro

eToro’s social trading feed sets it apart, but it has real gaps. Weigh these before deciding to open or keep an eToro account.

Pros

  • CopyTrader social and copy-trading tools
  • Commission-free stocks, ETFs and options
  • 100+ cryptoassets, with fractional trading from $10
  • Smart Portfolios for ready-made investment bundles

Cons

  • No IRAs or other retirement accounts
  • No mutual funds, bonds or forex
  • No trust or beneficiary (transfer-on-death) account designations
  • Crypto held through a separate entity that isn’t SIPC-protected

How to transfer your brokerage account

Switching brokers is a fairly standard process, though the exact steps depend on where you’re coming from and where you’re headed. Check eToro’s current fee schedule for its exact outgoing transfer fee before you start.
eToro uses the Automated Customer Account Transfer Service, so expect a process like this:

  1. Get a statement from your current broker with your account number and a list of your assets.
  2. Open the same type of account with your new broker — for example, an individual brokerage account should go to another individual brokerage account.
  3. Fill out a transfer initiation or ACAT form with your new broker.
  4. Your current broker validates the form or requests more information within three business days.
  5. Your old broker completes the transfer and moves your funds within six business days.

Note: some brokers won’t accept another broker’s proprietary funds, so you may not be able to transfer certain mutual funds or ETFs your old broker manages directly.

What is the Finder Score?

The Finder Score crunches 147 key metrics we collected directly from 18+ brokers and assessed each provider’s performance based on eight different categories, weighing each metric based on the expertise and insights of Finder’s investment experts. We then scored and ranked each provider to determine the best brokerage accounts.

We update our best picks as products change, disappear or emerge in the market. We also regularly review and revise our selections to ensure our best provider lists reflect the most competitive available.
