The Post Office was founded in 1984, and specialised in postal service. Since then, it has branched out to provide other services. In 2014, the Post Office Money branch was created to offer financial services such as banking and insurance. They are now the largest financial services chain in the UK.

What are my cover options with the Post Office travel insurance?

The Post Office offers several types of travel insurance cover. They are listed below with a selection of their features:

Going away for a summer holiday or a city break? Single trip cover is the ideal cover for a one-off holiday. Post Office Money’s policy features include:
  • The maximum number of days for a trip is as follows: 365 days for people aged under 70; 90 days for persons aged 71-75; 31 days for persons aged between 76 and 85.
  • Geographical restrictions apply dependent on which part of the world you state you are travelling to.
  • Up to £10m emergency medical cover in case you experience an injury whilst away.
  • 24/7 medical emergency helpline.
  • You can add up to four other people on your policy.
Planning more than one holiday this year? Then it may be more cost effective to invest in an Annual cover policy. This way, you will be covered for each of your trips and you won’t have to worry about taking out insurance each time you go away. Post Office Money’s annual policy features include:
  • Cover for up to 183 days abroad.
  • With lower levels of cover you must not exceed 17 consecutive days.
  • With higher levels of cover you must not exceed 31 days.

What’s the claims process for Post Office Money?

If you find yourself needing to make a claim, you can call your insurer’s claims department.

For policy numbers starting with TC, you can call on 0333 333 9702. It is important to note that you will need to file your claim within 28 days of returning home.
