Established in Yorkshire in the 1960s, the brand is best known for its supermarkets. However, through its ASDA Money division, it also offers a range of credit cards, personal loans and travel money, plus insurance for caravans, cars, homes, pets and travel.
More recently, ASDA has branched out further to include breakdown cover into its growing list of financial products and has won accolades for the quality of its cover.
We update our data regularly, but information can change between updates. Confirm details with the provider you're interested in before making a decision.
Customers can choose from three different tiers of protection. Please see below for more details:
An excess is the amount of money that you will be expected to pay if you make a claim.
Whilst you will not have to pay an excess for your breakdown cover, you will have to pay one should you receive a replacement vehicle.
For full details about the excess on your breakdown cover, please consult your breakdown cover policy.
If you break down and need to make claim, you can call the ASDA hotline number.
There’s a 24-hour helpline on 0800 202 8100 and operators will be able to talk you through the next steps. If you’re calling from Europe, the number is +44 1689 891 063.
ASDA Money offers a good range of policies that seems to cater for most customers. The European cover is one of the best in the market; ASDA Money has been awarded 5 stars by the policy analyst Defaqto for its breakdown cover policies.
ASDA Money says it has an average response time of 42 minutes and manages to successfully fix 4 out of 5 breakdowns at the roadside. One downside is that the product range isn’t large enough to enable you to customise your policy exactly to your needs by adding and removing parts of the policy.
Overall, ASDA Money is a good provider and with the pedigree of LV to back it up, would be a good choice for many.
