8 Best TradingView Alternatives in 2026

TradingView's free plan caps you at 1 chart and 2 indicators — here's where to go if you need more without paying up.

TradingView’s free plan limits you to one chart per tab and two indicators per chart, and unlocking more means paying: its tiers climb from $12.95 a month for Essential (two charts, five indicators) to $199.95 a month for Ultimate, depending on how many charts, indicators and alerts you need.(1)

If you want more charting power, real-time data or research tools without committing to that ladder, several other platforms cover similar ground, and some of them do it for free. Here’s how eight popular alternatives compare on cost, charting depth and data access, and who each one actually suits.

1. thinkorswim by Charles Schwab

Charles Schwab

9.4 Excellent

Read review
Thinkorswim is Schwab's professional-grade desktop trading platform, built for active traders who want deep charting alongside execution. It's free for Schwab brokerage account holders, with no separate platform fee. It includes hundreds of charting studies, native backtesting and paper trading for practicing strategies without risking real money. The tradeoff is that thinkorswim only comes bundled with a Schwab brokerage account, so you can't use it as a standalone charting tool the way you can with TradingView.

Best for: Options traders and active traders who are comfortable making Schwab their broker.

Annual fee $0 per month
Minimum deposit $0

2. Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation (TWS)

Interactive Brokers

9.4 Excellent

Read review
Trader Workstation is Interactive Brokers' flagship desktop platform, and it's free to use once you have an IBKR account. IBKR Lite accounts get unlimited commission-free trades on US-listed stocks and ETFs, while IBKR Pro accounts pay per-share commissions in exchange for faster order routing and more execution control. TWS packs in institutional-grade charting and order tools, but it has a genuinely steep learning curve, so spend time in paper trading mode before using it with real money.

Best for: Experienced traders who want institutional-level tools and don't mind a longer learning curve.

3. moomoo

Moomoo

9 Excellent

Up to $1,000 in Nvidia stock plus 8.1% APY on uninvested cash for 2 months, then it reverts to 3.35% APY. T&Cs apply.
Read review
Moomoo pairs commission-free trading with free advanced charting: 60-plus technical indicators, dozens of drawing tools and free real-time Level 2 market data (NYSE ArcaBook and Nasdaq TotalView) for accounts that keep a $100-plus 30-day average balance. Many brokers charge extra for Level 2 data regardless of balance. New accounts get a complimentary 30-day window on this tier regardless of balance. Moomoo also sells optional paid add-ons (engines) for deeper options, fundamentals and technical data.

Best for: Cost-conscious traders who want free real-time data and charting bundled with a brokerage account.

Webull offers commission-free trading on stocks, ETFs and standard options with no account minimum, plus a built-in charting suite at no extra cost. Level 2 Nasdaq TotalView data costs $2.99 a month standalone, or comes included with Webull Premium at $3.99 a month (or $40 a year), which also adds real-time options quotes and other perks.

5. StockCharts.com

StockCharts.com

StockCharts.com is a dedicated charting platform with no trading attached, which makes it one of the closest like-for-like alternatives to TradingView. It offers a limited free tier plus three paid levels: Basic at $19.95 a month, Extra at $29.95 a month and PRO at $49.95 a month, each unlocking more indicators, ChartLists, screeners and a faster auto-refresh rate. Annual subscribers get one month free.

Best for: Technical analysts who want a TradingView-style subscription model without a brokerage account attached.

Annual fee $19.95 per month
Minimum deposit $0
Signup bonus N/A

6. Finviz Elite

Finviz Elite

Finviz is best known for its free stock screener and heat maps, but the paid Elite tier at $39.50 a month — or $299.50 a year, working out to $24.96 a month — adds real-time quotes, premarket and after-hours data, unlimited intraday charts with up to 12 layouts, automatic pattern recognition and unlimited alerts. The free version remains genuinely useful for screening, even if the charting tools are more limited than TradingView's.

Best for: Traders who screen for setups first and chart second.

Annual fee $0 per month
Minimum deposit $0
Signup bonus N/A

7. MetaTrader 5

MetaTrader 5

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is a free trading and charting platform built by MetaQuotes, widely used for forex and futures trading, with built-in technical and fundamental analysis tools, custom indicators and an algorithmic trading engine built around the MQL5 programming language. The platform itself costs nothing to download, but MetaQuotes doesn't act as a broker itself — placing real trades means opening a live account with one of the many brokers that offer MT5 access. A demo account lets you test charting and strategies without connecting to a broker, though live market rates require that broker connection.

Best for: Forex and futures traders who want free, broker-agnostic charting with built-in algorithmic trading support.

Annual fee $0 per month
Minimum deposit $0
Signup bonus N/A

8. TrendSpider

TrendSpider

TrendSpider is a standalone charting and analysis platform built around automated technical analysis: AI-detected chart patterns, auto-drawn trendlines and Fibonacci levels, and multi-symbol strategy backtesting, on top of 300-plus indicators. It comes in four different tiers, from Standard to Advanced. If you pay yearly, it'll run you about $52 to $154 a month. Paying month-to-month costs a bit more, ranging from $82 to $321 a month. You can also snag an introductory discount of up to 28% off the first year on three of those tiers. TrendSpider runs frequent promotional pricing directly on its own site, so treat any specific figure as a starting point rather than a fixed rate. Unlike the broker-bundled options above, TrendSpider isn't tied to any brokerage — you can use it purely for analysis and execute trades elsewhere.

Best for: Traders who want TradingView-style automation, like auto pattern detection and trendlines, without relying on their broker's charting tools.

Annual fee $54 per month
Minimum deposit $0
Signup bonus N/A

Bottom line

TradingView remains a strong default for charting because of its social features and Pine Script community, but its free plan is genuinely limited and its paid tiers get expensive fast. If you already trade through Schwab or Interactive Brokers, thinkorswim or TWS give you comparable charting for free. If you’re focused on forex or futures, MetaTrader 5 is free and works with dozens of brokers. If you want a dedicated charting tool with no brokerage attached, StockCharts.com, Finviz and TrendSpider are the closest matches, with TrendSpider leaning hardest into automation.
