Financial services group Beacon Street Group has entered into an agreement to go public through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), also known as a blank check company. SPACs are companies with no commercial operations that exist purely to raise capital through IPOs. The proposed offering will value the combined company at about $3 billion. No date has been announced yet.
The SPAC, Ascendant Digital Acquisition Corp, originally went public in July 2020 and currently trades on the NYSE under the ticker symbol "ACND."
