Expert review

The Mission Lane Money Debit Card from Mission Lane is truly free. You won’t ever pay Mission Lane a fee under any circumstances. The app also includes built-in budgeting tools, and it lets you automatically load the account depending on the date or your balance.

However, you can’t deposit cash, it doesn’t support wire transfers and you can’t add the card to a digital wallet. Also, Mission Lane‘s customer reviews are overwhelmingly negative, which might be a cause for concern.

But none of the reviews are targeted toward its Mission Lane Money Debit Card. Most negative reviews are about its credit card or customer support.

If you want an account that you’ll never pay a penny for, Mission Lane Money is a good option. But the account lacks features compared to today’s best debit cards.

For instance, it doesn’t accrue interest or include reimbursements for out-of-network ATM fees. Also, it doesn’t offer cash back or early direct deposit. If you’re looking for any of these features, this may not be the account for you.
