expires|2025-04-01| In the last few years, there's been plenty of speculation around a possible TikTok IPO (initial public offering) from its parent company ByteDance. It was also looking like there might be some sort of forced TikTok IPO with the US ordering it to be its own separate entity due to concerns linked with China.
These concerns are so severe that TikTok was planning to wind down in the US after a ban was supposed to come into effect on 19 January 2025. However, Trump may have come to the rescue and has pledged that he plans to delay the TikTok ban by an initial 90 days. There's no understanding yet as to whether all of this could be good news or bad news for a potential TikTok IPO or when retail investors will be able to buy shares in TikTok.
Once TikTok goes public, you'll need a brokerage account to invest. Consider opening a brokerage account today so you're ready as soon as the stock hits the market.
There's speculation that TikTok is planning an IPO. We're unable to confirm that news, and TikTok has not yet filed a viewable Form S-1 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. We'll update this page with information as it becomes available.
It's impossible to predict how any stock will perform — and IPOs can be particularly volatile. But evaluating the performance of companies like TikTok can be useful in determining how the market is performing and whether now is a good time to invest in this industry. Select a company to learn more about what it does and how its stock performs, including market capitalisation, the price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio, price/earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio and dividend yield. While this list includes a selection of the most well-known and popular stocks, it doesn't include every stock available.
