If you’ve got anyone under the age of 16 in your life, you’ll have heard of online game platform Roblox. With Roblox you get to create your own games, as well as playing those designed by others – it's a whole little ecosystem. The California-based platform's 2021 listing on the New York Stock Exchange was hotly anticipated given how ubiquitous it had become, but it was initially delayed while the US Securities and Exchange Commission reportedly scrutinised the way the company recognises revenue from the sale of its proprietary Robux currency. You can now buy Roblox shares on any trading platform that lets you trade US shares – here's how.
The whole process can take as little as 15 minutes. You'll need a smartphone or computer, an internet connection, your passport or driving licence and a means of payment.

Valuing a stock is incredibly difficult, and any metric has to be viewed as part of a bigger picture of overall performance. However, analysts commonly use some key metrics to help gauge value. Check out the Roblox P/E ratio, PEG ratio and EBITDA.
Roblox's "price/earnings-to-growth ratio" can be calculated by dividing its P/E ratio by its growth – to give 8.1775. Higher PEG ratios such as this can be interpreted as meaning the shares offer worse value given the current rate of growth.
The PEG ratio provides a broader view than just the P/E ratio, as it gives more insight into Roblox's future profitability. By accounting for growth, it could also help you if you're comparing the share prices of multiple high-growth companies.
However, it's sensible to consider Roblox's PEG ratio in relation to those of similar companies.
