How do I use my Trading 212 code to get free shares?
Use the Finder link to open a new account 👤
If you use the Finder link, your code will be automatically applied. Alternatively you can apply the code 'FINDER' in the app ('Use Promo Code' in the menu) within 10 days from opening the account.
Verify your identy 👍
Verify your email, enter your NI number, take a selfie in the app and upload a picture of your passport/driving licence. Trading 212 can typically verifify you're who you say you are instantly.
Deposit funds to the account 💳
Once your ID has been verified, you can deposit funds to the account (which you'll need to do in order to qualify for the free shares promotion).
Receive your fractional shares 🎉
You'll get a notification once your shares land (if you opted to allow notifications). Job done!
Plus get more rewards by referring friends to Trading 212
From time to time Trading 212 also offers a “Get free shares!” promo when you refer friends to the platform. It’s usually for a limited time only – the latest promo launched in November and ran until 3 December.
With that offer you get 5 free fractional shares (worth up to £100 in total) for each friend you refer. While the offer’s live, simply launch the app on your phone, click on the three lines at the right hand side of the menu at the bottom of the screen, and choose “Get free shares” then “Invite friends”. You can either give the app access to your contacts or you can just copy your unique referral link and send it to a friend however you like.
When Trading 212 is running its refer-a-friend promotion, if you don’t have a friend using the app, you may find people sharing theirs on Reddit. But be aware that the links shared may not be valid… you could open an account and fund it then not receive your free shares.
Trading 212 has also previously run cashback offers on funds paid into its Stocks and shares ISA product. Check back here for new offers as they go live.
