Aimed at millennials who like to travel, Tandem’s Cashback Credit Card doesn’t charge any extra fees on purchases you make abroad. Plus, unlike some cards touting no fees overseas, interest is charged on these transactions as normal – so if you clear your balance in full each month, transactions at home and overseas will benefit from the card’s grace period of up to 56 days of 0% interest on purchases.
Tandem even pays out cashback on non-sterling transactions. There are a couple of notable exemptions to the cashback, however, which are noted in the card’s terms and conditions. These include purchasing currency, gambling transactions and cash advances.
There’s no monthly or annual fee to worry about. However, for those who take cash out regularly, don’t forget that while cash withdrawals abroad don’t incur a fee, you will be charged a percentage-based fee for taking cash out in the UK. No matter where you withdraw cash using this card, you’ll be charged interest on these funds from the day they leave your account, as such it’s still better to avoid using the card in this way if possible.

When it comes to repayments, you can make manual repayments online or over the phone (0203 370 0970), or alternatively set up a direct debit. A direct debit is a great idea because it protects you from forgetting to make a repayment and either damaging your credit score, getting hit with a penalty fee or losing any promotional rates as a result. You can arrange a direct debit for repayments when you apply for the credit card. The table below shows the options available.
