How do I apply

Whether you already have a bank account with Santander or you are a new customer, you can apply in two main ways:

  • Online. You can apply directly from Santander’s website. It shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes and you won’t need to get up from your sofa. Just make sure you read the fine print carefully before completing the application.
  • In branch. If you’d rather sort your loan out in person, you can either pop-in to the nearest Santander branch or book an appointment online. Booking in advance is usually better – you won’t waste any time waiting for a staff member to become available.

In both cases, be prepared to provide three years of address history, details of your financial situation and income (including details of your employer), and the bank account number and sort code from which you want the monthly direct debits to repay the loan to be taken from.

How do I get in contact with Santander’s customer services?

You can contact customer support by clicking on the ‘Chat with us’ function on their website or you can call Santander on 0800 028 4055. Lines are open on Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 4pm. The line is closed on Sundays.

We show offers we can track - that's not every product on the market...yet. Unless we've said otherwise, products are in no particular order. The terms "best", "top", "cheap" (and variations of these) aren't ratings, though we always explain what's great about a product when we highlight it. This is subject to our terms of use. When you make major financial decisions, consider getting independent financial advice. Always consider your own circumstances when you compare products so you get what's right for you.
