Expert review
With its remarkable series of perks, this credit card is obviously meant for Sheffield Wednesday fans, but it’s also well-equipped to compete with the rest of the credit card market.
It comes with 50 days of 0% interest on your purchases each billing cycle and no annual fee. So, provided that you pay off all your debt every month, it’ll be 100% for free.
Moreover, if you have a residual balance on another card that you’re paying pricey interest on, you can transfer it to this one and enjoy a 6-month interest-free period. However, there is a balance transfer fee of 5% (min. £5) to consider. You can also enjoy a nine-month 0% interest period on Sheffield Wednesday season ticket purchases. Always keep in mind if you don’t clear your balance in full by the end of the 0% period, any outstanding balance will start to accrue interest at the card’s standard rate.
As this card is on the Mastercard network, it’s accepted in more than 40 million locations worldwide. You’ll also be able to enjoy access to Priceless Cities experiences.

Repayment options
When it comes to repayments, you can make manual repayments online or over the phone (0371 376 9214), or alternatively set up a direct debit. A direct debit is a great idea because it protects you from forgetting to make a repayment and either damaging your credit score, getting hit with a penalty fee or losing any promotional rates as a result. You can arrange a direct debit for repayments when you apply for the credit card. The table below shows the options available.
Choose from the following direct debit options for your monthly repayments:

How to apply for the Owls Mastercard
You can apply for this credit card online and if you have all the documents ready it shouldn’t take more than 10–15 minutes. Check the eligibility criteria first so you don’t waste your time on a pointless application.
Here’s what you’re going to need:
- Your personal details. Including address history and bank details.
- Your employment details. Including name and address of your employer.
- Your financial details. Monthly income after tax and monthly payment amount for your rent or mortgage.
If you’re planning to do a balance transfer, you’ll also need the details of your old card. The application process starts with a “soft check” that will tell you how likely you are to be accepted, with no impact on your credit score.
