Expert review
As more digital lenders are popping up with new business charge cards, you may be thinking, what makes Moss any different? In its very short time of launching, Moss has started to make big waves in the fintech industry and has been rumoured to be on track for unicorn status. Offering its customers an integrated financial management platform and high credit limits, the Moss Corporate card could be a good option if you are looking for an all-in-one system, with the added bonus of earning cashback whilst you spend.
So what’s not so great about the Moss Corporate card? Well, for starters, as a German company dealing in Euros, it is unclear of any foreign exchange (FX) fees that Moss charges for its UK-based clientele. Once you have applied, you might be able to discuss this concern with your account manager, but it is not currently disclosed in the payment plans. And if you’re looking for a card that gets you more bang for your buck, yes, it’s great that you can earn cashback on your everyday business expenses, but 0.4% seems to fall quite a bit shorter than other charge cards on the market, especially when you factor in the £10,000 minimum spend.
That being said, Moss’s current customers rave about the easy-to-use nature of the system and how helpful the client management are with any queries.
Whether you’re in the researching stage or ready to apply for a Moss card, there are plenty of business credit and charge cards available on the market. You can start comparing the best cards that will work for you and your business’s needs.
The Moss Business Card is issued on the Mastercard network so it's accepted at more than 50 million merchant locations across more than 210 countries and territories.

Who is Moss?
Moss is a Berlin-based digital lender (not a bank) offering monthly credit limits of up to £1,000,000 to SMEs.
Co-founded by Ante Spittler, Anton Rummel, Ferdinand Meyer and Stephan Haslebacher, Moss aims to help its customers “efficiently manage payments, financial processes and cash flow” on the Moss platform.
Since launching in 2020, Moss has received over €130 million in funding from global investors and has recently closed its Series B funding round of €75 million (February 2022). Could Moss be on track to achieve unicorn status?
What is the Moss Corporate card and how it works
The Moss Corporate card is a charge card (not a credit card) aimed to help SMEs manage their business expenses. Although Moss does offer you the flexibilty to choose credit or debit, a unique feature in the business card market.
Once you have successfully applied for a Moss business card and connected your current business accounts, you and your employees will be able to start using the cards on your everyday business expenses. With the integrated account management system, you have the ability to monitor all card spend and set personalised spending limits for your employees.
You might be asking yourself, so, when can I start earning cashback? You can start earning cashback on your everyday business expenses once you have reached the £10,000 minimum spend.
Before you apply, you can get a taste of the Moss Corporate card and request a demo.
Features
Earn cashback. Moss is offering the chance to earn 0.4% cashback on all card spend, granted that you meet the £10,000 minimum spend. With the option to purchase additional physical cards and can request unlimited virtual cards for your employees, you can make use of the ultimate benefits of this cashback offer, if used correctly and responsibly.
Physical and virtual cards. If your application is successful, you will receive 1 physical plastic card and can request additional physical cards. You will also have access to unlimited virtual cards.
Monthly credit limits of up to £1,000,000. Depending on the subscription plan you choose, you could receive spending limits of up to £1,000,000 (subject to status).
Manage employees’ spending limits. As the account holder, you can customise and manage the credit limit for each individual card.
Manage your Moss account using the dashboard. You can manage your business’s spending through the Moss platform, which is currently available on PC, iOS and Android. With the dashboard, you can see how much credit you have available to use, when your next billing will take place and approve/decline payment requests.
Pricing options and repayments
Unlike other business charge cards, Moss offers a subscription-based structure, with a monthly fee that depends on the size and needs of your business. Moss also charges an added £9 for additional physical cards and £25 for chargebacks.
If you are an SME, you will be able to apply for the “Standard” plan, which starts from £9 a month per active user. However, if you have a larger team or potentially require credit facilities of up to £1 milion (subject to status), you might benefit more from a plan designed for your company’s needs. For this plan, you’ll need to get a personalised quote for a clear idea of pricing.
As a charge card, you will need to repay your subscription in full each month otherwise you could negatively impact any future lending for your company. However, don’t panic, you can track your credit limit and repayment dates via the Moss platform. Should you unexpectedly reach or exceed your limit before the end of your billing cycle, you can use the “Pay now” feature to manually reset your balance or contact your account manager.

Verdict
If you’re looking for a business card that comes with its own integrated account management system, customisable spending limits for your employees and the added bonus of earning cashback on eligible spend (albeit it is only a small amount compared to other cards on the market), the Moss Corporate card could be a good option to consider.
Whether you’re in the researching phase or you are ready to apply, the appealing option of a demo might be able to help you answer any questions that you may have before committing to a card – especially a card that comes with a monthly subscription fee.
