eToro has its own proprietary wallet while Kraken only has an exchange wallet.
The eToro Money Crypto Wallet lets you transfer Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Stellar, Tron, Cardano and Ripple to and from eToro. You can also swap within the wallet and send to another external wallet. You can’t use decentralized apps (dApps) with the eToro Money Crypto wallet.

Though Kraken provides lots of guides and learning options for users, it’s still an inherently more complex platform to use than eToro. The varying fee structure and multiple buying options can be confusing for new users.
eToroX can be hard to find, but the fees even for the basic eToro buying and selling options are still lower than Kraken. eToro also has a simpler interface and allows you to copy other traders’ strategies for free.

Neither Kraken or eToro has ever experienced a significant hack, though individual accounts have been compromised.
Kraken takes a proactive approach by offering bug bounties for those who can find issues in Kraken’s security. It also does penetration testing of its systems and has a Kraken Security Labs team.
Neither exchange has a crypto insurance fund, but USD deposits on eToro are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

Taking four out of seven categories in this comparison, eToro comes out on top compared to Kraken. Kraken provides better security, fiat and crypto support. However, eToro has comparable support in all those categories while also offering lower fees and a proprietary wallet.
eToro also offers more than just crypto investment options for traders. It has a Visa debit card, allowing users to spend their crypto in more places.
Neither exchange is a bad option. If you want to participate in crypto derivatives trading, you’ll need to use Kraken over eToro.
