Strong network
Changelly operates as a white-label exchange, meaning other companies can use its technology to run their own platforms under different names. Changelly supports an API partner network of over 600 companies, including global businesses like Tangem, SafePal, OneKey and Token Pocket. They also partner with 185 blockchain networks for cross-chain swaps.
In 2024, Changelly expanded its fiat purchasing capabilities through partnerships with Revolut, Acwires, Kado and BRLA. These additions make it easier for users worldwide to buy crypto through various payment channels.

Speed
One of Changelly’s greatest benefits is its speed. Transactions can be completed quickly, either on your phone or your desktop. In fact, Changelly’s average transaction speed is five minutes — half the time of competitors like Paybis. If you are a trader who is frequently on the go or you prioritize efficiency, the Changelly exchange could be the right choice.
Where Changelly falls short
Changelly has some drawbacks, such as minimal online transparency, poor customer service and a more complicated trading exchange.
Hidden fees and charges
Changelly does not do the best with fee transparency. Some fees are unclear, and others depend on the transaction. For example, there are variable margin, withdrawal and network fees. PRO account holders are also subject to a sliding scale of fees that will save you money on standard rates but change based on your transaction. It makes it difficult for investors to fully budget fees when planning their trades.
Poor customer service
Customer service options are severely limited with Changelly. While other brokerages like Robinhood or eToro offer phone or live support, Changelly only offers support via tickets. That means you must go online and submit a request for help, then wait for a response. It is a far cry from the immediate customer service you can find elsewhere.
Must be tech-savvy
You need to be at least a little tech-savvy to use Changelly. It uses a non-custodial wallet, so you have to be familiar with how one works and how to set it up. Changelly offers detailed setup instructions to help with the process, but this is not the simplest app if you are looking for something a little more user-friendly for beginners.
Is Changelly legit?
Changelly has not been without its challenges. In 2024, Christine Mouser and Candice Wilhelm filed two class action lawsuits in Illinois federal court against imToken Pte. Ltd. and Marella LLC, which operates as Changelly.
The lawsuits allege that Changelly is in violation of Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) by illegally collecting, storing and disclosing the facial geometry scans of its users. The facial geometry scans are a part of Changelly’s required Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols and, per the lawsuit, should have user consent before being collected or shared.
Despite this lawsuit, Changelly maintains over 2.6 million users today. Its non-custodial model is praised for its extra security since funds never pass through the platform, instead using partner crypto exchanges to send money directly to customer crypto wallets.

Setting up a Changelly account requires just a few steps.
- Visit Changelly’s website and hit the Sign Up button.
- Enter your email address and choose Continue.
- Receive the email confirmation and select the link in the email. You will be redirected to the Changelly home page.
- Wait for a second email to be sent with your password. Log in and begin trading.
Be sure to reset your password for added security. To do this, select Account in the top corner and then Settings.
You can add your payment information when you make your trade.

With Changelly, you’re unable to cash out your coins directly to a bank account. However, you may be able to turn the cryptocurrency you bought using fiat money to cash by transferring to another exchange that can link a bank account and cash it from there. You can check for the list of cryptocurrency exchanges having such a feature.
You may also check coinbase pro exchange review showing the analysis of GDAX, which is one of the digital exchanges that lets you turn your fiat currency into cash.
It might be helpful as well to learn more about selling bitcoins.

I went to the Changelly site, and was surprised that they allow me to log in by using my gmail account with no password requirement, or two step verification. Isn’t this unsecure, and shouldn’t Changelly require better security? Also I see no XRP on Changelly.

Changelly is actually a trusted exchange service that is safe and convenient to use.
Your email is needed so you can create an account that will give you access to your transaction history, password editing and other account settings. Once logged in, you will have the option to enable the two step verification via the Google Authenticator app.

I understand how one purchases crypto currency with fiat dollars (credit card), but how does one withdraw the crypto currency purchased in fiat dollars when one wants to cash out.??
