Does Woodforest Have Zelle?

No, this private bank does not integrate with Zelle for P2P payments.

Zelle is a popular peer-to-peer (P2P) payment service that lets you send and receive money in minutes from friends, family and other people you know and trust. While Zelle is integrated with over 2,000 US banks and credit unions, it is not currently compatible with Woodforest.

Woodforest is not directly compatible with Zelle

Unfortunately, Woodforest National Bank doesn’t currently integrate with Zelle, which means you won’t be able to send or receive money through Zelle directly from your Woodforest account.

That said, Woodforest does have its own version of a similar service. Once you download Woodforest’s mobile banking app, you can send money to anyone with a US bank account, no matter where they bank. Like with Zelle, all you need is your recipient’s mobile phone number or email.

Can I connect my Woodforest account to Zelle?

No. Since Zelle shut down its standalone app, you can now only use the service through participating banks’ mobile apps or online platforms. Since Woodforest isn’t a Zelle partner, there’s no way to connect your account.

How to set up Zelle

If you want to use Zelle, you’d have to open an account with a participating bank or credit union, like Chase, Capital One or SoFi®. Then, follow these steps to start sending or receiving Zelle payments:

  1. Download your bank’s mobile app or log in to online banking.
  2. Look for Zelle in the transfers or payments menu.
  3. Enroll with your email address or US phone number.
  4. Link your bank account and confirm your details.
  5. Start sending and receiving money.

Alternatives to Zelle

Since Zelle isn’t compatible with Woodforest, here are some other alternatives available if you’re looking for a fast and easy way to send and receive money.

  • Cash App. Cash App is a P2P app similar to Zelle that lets you send money instantly. But unlike Zelle, which directly sends money to your linked account, funds in your Cash App balance will remain there until you transfer them to a linked account or card.
  • Venmo. Venmo is owned by PayPal and is one of the most popular P2P apps for sending money to friends and family. Note that standard Venmo transfers take around one to three business days, whereas Zelle transfers are almost instant.
  • Chime’s Pay Anyone feature. If you have a Chime® Checking Account, you can use its Pay Anyone tool to send money, even if the other person doesn’t have a Chime account.

Bottom line

Woodforest doesn’t directly support Zelle, meaning you can’t use the service to send or receive money from your Woodforest account. If you need Zelle, consider opening an account with one of these top banks that support Zelle. Otherwise, you can still use alternatives like Venmo, Cash App or Chime’s Pay Anyone feature to send and receive money quickly.
