How does Splitit work?
Splitit works much like many other buy now, pay later providers, in that it partners with retailers looking to offer finance through a third party. When you browse and shop from a specific store offering Splitit, you can select Splitit as your payment method at the checkout and use a Visa card or Mastercard to split your payments.
The company does not charge any interest on payments or late fees. However, as payments are being charged to your credit card, you may be charged interest or charges imposed by your credit card issuer under its agreement. Debit cards may be used for some retailers, although not all stores will accept debit cards.
Splitit offers four payment structures:
- Pay in 3 instalments. An option to pay for your order in 3 separate chunks.
- Pay in 6 instalments. An option to pay for your order in 6 separate chunks.
- Pay in 12 instalments. An option to pay for your order in 12 separate chunks.
- Pay in 24 instalments. An option to pay for your order in 24 separate chunks.
