The Jeep Compass has been around since 2007 and is currently in its second generation. The Jeep Compass is one the company’s first crossover SUVs. The compact SUV is known for its powerful off road four wheel drive, upscale interior and large cabin. In 2016, there were over 94,000 sales in the United States. This was the largest year in sales for the Jeep Compass since it’s inception.

The latest model of the Jeep Compass has been evaluated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for safety ratings. The NHTSA awarded the Jeep Compass with a 4-Star Overall Safety Rating. The frontal crash test was awarded three, out of five stars and the rollover crash test was given four stars for safety. The IIHS only rated the rear crash protection, which was given the highest possible score.
In 2013, there were only 15 Jeep Compass models stolen. That is a 0.71% theft rate based on the number of cars produced that year.
