Ninja Air Fryer AF100UK vs AF160UK Max
The AF160UK 5.2l is a higher spec and capacity model than the AF100UK, but that's offset by the price tag. So is it worth the difference?
Ninja has taken off as the go-to brand for efficient, effective air fryers. Both the AF100UK and the AF160UK have proven to be popular models, but just how different are they? We’ve put them side by side so you can see where your extra money goes and decide which is right for you.
AF100UK vs AF160UK Max: Vital statistics
Round 1: Stated functions
|Functions include||Air fry, Roast, Dehydrate, Reheat, Max crisp||Air fry, Roast, Bake, Dehydrate, Reheat, Max crisp|
The AF160UK has a couple more functions for a greater cooking experience. The Max Crisp function crisps food fast with temperatures up to 240C, while baking in it won’t circulate the hot air as fast so you’ll end up with moist and crumbly cakes.
Round 2: Capacity and size
|Dimensions (HxWxD)||36cm x 25cm x 32cm||36cm x 25cm x 32cm|
|Capacity and size||★★★★★||★★★★★|
Both air fryers are suitable for small kitchens and match each other dimension wise, though the AF160UK is slightly heavier. The Max model will take on more food, avoiding overcrowding, although Ninja recommend shaking food in both baskets for even browning.
Round 3: Convenience
They’re both quick and easy to clean up, either by hand or in a dishwasher. As typical with Ninjas, neither are transparent, nor will they stir your food for you. Presets aren’t available as standard, but the displayed functions are easy to get the hang of.
Overall winner: Ninja AF160UK Max
While the AF100UK is cheaper, the gold medal air fryer is the AF160UK Max. It’s can cook more and has more functions, not compromising on its snug size. Both are quick to heat up and rapid at cooking frozen food, though the Max Crisp mode on the AF160UK will blast through chicken wings and fries in no time.
