    Who is Simplesurance?

    Simplesurance offers a range of gadget insurance for newly purchased devices such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops and computers as well as those purchased less than six months before a policy starts.

    Its gadget insurance policies can be taken out for 1, 2 or 3 years while Simplesurance also offers warranty extension cover up to 48 months.

    Simplesurance operates in the UK and Germany, Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Poland and Japan.

    What types of gadget insurance does Simplesurance offer?

    • Damage protection for mobile electronic devices. Cover for mobile phones, tablets and laptops with adapted policies for certain makes and models including iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, HTC and Huawei.
    • Damage protection for stationary electronic devices. Cover for computers, TVs, game consoles and hi-fi systems.
    • Warranty extension for mobile gadgets. Extended cover for mobile gadgets for up to 24, 36 or 48 months.
    • Warranty extension for stationary electrical equipment. Extended cover for a variety of electronic devices including kitchen appliances such as fridges, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers and coffee machines for up to 24, 36 or 48 months.

    What’s not covered?

    As with all insurance, there are exclusions. For Simplesurance gadget cover, these include:

    • Wear and tear
    • Pre-existing damage
    • Intentional damage
    • Manufacturer faults or damage
    • False or inaccurate information supplied
    • Fraudulent claims

    What is my excess?

    An excess is the amount of money you have to contribute when you make a claim. The amount of your excess will vary depending on the original price of the gadget that’s covered.

    If more than one excess applies, they will be added together.

    There is no excess for Simplesurance stationary electronic devices such as computers, game consoles and hi-fi systems. However an excess will be applied to mobile electronics depending on the original price of a device, as shown in the table.

    What is the claims process for Simplesurance?

    If you need to make a claim, you can do so online via the Simplesurance website by selecting “Make a claim”.

    As Simplesurance is web-based, there is currently no way to make a claim via telephone.

    It’s vital that you let your insurer know about an incident within seven days of becoming aware of any issue or damage. Failure to do this could result in a rejected claim later on.
