Our verdict
A high APY and no monthly fees, and we couldn't find a real downside.
With no monthly fees, no minimum deposit and a fantastic APY, there isn’t much to say about the EverBank Performance Savings account. Earn up to 4.2% APY on all balances, and you don’t have to worry about a monthly fee chipping away at your balance. And a big plus, Interest compounds daily, and of course, deposits are FDIC insured. Overall, not much to complain about, except it is an online only account so cash deposits are off the table.
Best for: Those who want a low-maintenance, online HYSA.

What we like about EverBank Performance Savings
The EverBank Performance Savings account is an FDIC-insured savings account with a rate that easily earns the title of a high-yield savings account (HYSA).
And if you’d rather have locked-in rates, EverBank also offers high-yield certificates of deposit (CDs).
Low maintenance and high earnings
This is a top-notch account with a great APY, no monthly fees and no opening deposit requirement. Open the account with as much or as little as you want, and your interest compounds daily.
The account accepts one-time and recurring transfers, too, so you can set up transfers automatically to grow your balance without needing to think about it.
Much higher APY than average
Compared to the national average rate of just 0.38%, according to the FDIC, EverBank’s 4.2% APY is roughly 10 times higher.(1)
So just for a quick example, if you put $1,000 in a savings account with a 0.38% rate for one year, you’d earn about $3.80. In the EverBank Performance Savings, that same deposit and same time frame yields about $39.
Compared to large banks, like Chase or Wells Fargo, EverBank’s savings is easily the better choice. However, you’ll have to be ok with not having access to physical branch locations.
What could be better
As much as we like a “gotcha” moment, we couldn’t really find anything negative about this account.
We’re just nitpicking at this point, but the only real downside with this account is you have to fund it electronically.
To fund the Performance Savings account, you have to perform an ACH transfer from another account, or do a wire transfer. EverBank doesn’t have a way to accept cash deposits, which could be a downside if you handle cash on the regular.

There isn’t that much feedback for EverBank on review platforms, but we usually take that as a good sign. Most folks don’t leave reviews for banks or financial companies unless something bad happens, so in our case, we see this as good.
Among the reviews, most are from 2025, and many are around app issues, such as apps crashing or Zelle transfers not working. A few also express frustration with trying to get their funds after closing an account, or having to jump through hoops getting ahold of a representative.
We also went to the app stores for more information, and there, EverBank has great ratings. More recent written reviews praise the bank’s high rates on savings accounts and CDs, and some also note that the app recently had a big overhaul (which tracks with the complaints we saw last year).
Overall, the positive reviews on app stores well outweigh the few negative reviews on the Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot.
