What types of deals will I find with the BankAmeriDeals program?

BankAmeriDeals vary based on your spending patterns. If you frequently dine, expect to see attractive rewards for Airbnb, McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Moe’s and other similar restaurants. Other offers include Starbucks, Under Armour, Kmart, AT&T and more. Typically, deals offer up to 15% cash back.

Can I use offers online?

Yes, you can use most offers online as well as at brick-and-mortar stores. But to use them, you have to activate them first through your online account or mobile app.

What are the drawbacks?

  • Deal activation. You can earn cash back only on deals you’ve activated.
  • Deal expiration. If you don’t link the deal and make the purchase with your card by the expiration date, you won’t earn cash back.
  • Read the deal’s terms. Some deals may require you to signup for new services or meet a minimum spending requirement. Be sure to find out each deal’s terms.
  • Deals vary. Deals are based on your spending. If you frequently dine out, you’ll get restaurant deals. If you often shop, you’ll get shopping deals.
  • Late reward crediting. You get your cash back in up to 30 days after making the purchase. Some competitor programs credit your rewards in up to 14 days.

How to maximize BankAmeriDeals program earnings

  • Use the right card. Link the deal you want with the card that’ll earn you additional rewards. For example, if you link a deal with cash back on dining, make sure you use a card that offers additional rewards at restaurants.
  • Redeem deals often. Every time you redeem a deal, you earn coins. The more coins you earn, the higher cash bonuses you get.
  • Buy gift cards. Buying gift cards can give you the highest rewards. But read the deal’s terms to confirm that gift cards are an eligible deal purchase.
  • Stack rewards. Once you activate a deal, use cashback portals to make the purchase and earn additional rewards.

Bottom line

BankAmeriDeals can be an excellent way of earning cash back on purchases you would make anyway. By spending a few minutes to browse through deals and linking them to your credit card, you could earn up to 15% cash back and additional bonuses.

However, there are similar rewards programs available, such as the Amex Offers program. Compare these programs to find the best one for your financial needs.
