What’s the film about?

After his brother is killed, paralysed ex-marine Jake Sully takes his place on a mission to go to an alien planet, Pandora, where he is to research the native highly evolved Na’vi beings and their culture in exchange for the spinal surgery which will fix his legs.

As the planet’s atmosphere is poisonous, the humans who visit need to link their minds to human/Na’vi hybrids called Avatars which enable them to move freely on the planet in the body of the Avatar. Jake becomes mobile again through his new Avatar body and with his team he goes on to research the Na’vi people. Jake falls in love with Neytiri, a Na’vi woman, but greed and capitalism threaten to destroy the Na’vi people’s home and Jake is drawn into a battle to protect the survival of Neytiri’s world.

Can’t I just download Avatar illegally for free?

You shouldn’t! Here are a few things to remember:

  • It’s poor quality. Streaming can sometimes take ages to buffer and the resulting quality is usually very poor.
  • It risks your computer. It’s risky as many illegal streaming sites carry viruses and ads that put your computer at risk.
  • It’s illegal. To support the entertainment industry which works hard to bring great entertainment to fans, pay your bit, sit back and enjoy.

It’s so much easier to just sign up with Disney+, then you can also watch hundreds of other movies and TV shows from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, National Geographic and more.

Is Avatar on Netflix or other streaming sites?

Avatar is not available on Netflix or Amazon Prime streaming services, but you can buy it as a standalone movie to watch on Amazon Prime. You can add Disney+ to NOW and Sky Q, where you’ll be able to stream the movie.
