GoToMeeting is a video-conferencing platform that allows employees worldwide to tune into your company’s meetings. Similar to major competitors like Zoom, GoToMeeting assigns each user a personal meeting room URL for easy repeat access. How do I sign up for GoToMeeting?
GoToMeeting offers a 14-day free trial. You won’t need to provide your debit or credit card details for the free trial, so you can test its services before committing:
- Head to the GoToMeeting website and click “Start for Free”.
- Enter your name, business email, job title, phone number and company size, then set up a password.
- Click “Sign Up”.
Can I download the GoToMeeting app?
Yes, GoToMeeting has an app version for both iOS and Android. You can download it on the App Store, Google Play Store or through the company’s website.
What's the difference between GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar?
GoToMeeting is a collaborative tool meant to facilitate virtual meetings, whereas GoToWebinar is suited for gatherings that include a presenter and an audience. With GoToWebinar, after you create an event, you send out an invite with a link attendees can use to register individually. As the event approaches, GoToWebinar emails reminders. GoToMeeting, on the other hand, sends individual invites that guests can either accept or decline.
GoToWebinar also has a practice mode, so the presenter can test drive a presentation before going live. Finally, GoToWebinar has tools like surveys, polls and live capabilities, whereas GoToMeeting doesn’t.
While GoToWebinar is not included in the price of GoToMeeting, you can bundle both at a discounted rate.

User feedback is similar in the App Store, where the app also has 4.6 out of 5 stars, based on more than 2,000 reviews. Customers cited dependability and ease of use as the main reasons for the positive feedback. Things are not as rosy on Trustpilot, where GoToMeeting has 3 out of 5 stars and a rating of Average, but this is based on only 4 reviews.

Pros and cons of GoToMeeting
Pros
- No minimum host requirement. You can add extra players as needed, potentially helping small businesses save money.
- Unlimited storage. Record calls straight to the cloud to avoid running out of space on your computer.
- Bundles with other products. Because it’s part of the larger GoTo enterprise, you get discounts for adding on tools like Jive or GoToTraining.
Cons
- Fewer webcam displays than competitors. Zoom allows for up to 49 HD webcams at once, while GoToMeeting caps at 25.
- No free plan. Zoom and WebEx offer a free plan with basic conferencing capabilities. With GoToMeeting, you get only 14 days free before needing to purchase a package.
Verdict
GoToMeeting is a solid choice for small to medium-size companies in need of basic conferencing capabilities. If your company is larger and GoToMeeting’s participant cutoff doesn’t suit your needs, compare other business software programmes before signing up.
