Holika Holika Pure Essence Mask Sheet - Damask Rose
As the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us are preparing and already self-isolating. Even though this time can be intimidating, self-isolation is the perfect opportunity to practise a bit of self-care when you have the time.
You may have hours of free time to spend to yourself or a few short minutes to relax and de-stress. So, we have put together a list of items that will work for a range of lifestyles that can help lift your spirits during self-isolation.
Step 1 in any self-care routine is without a doubt a stunning face mask. Whatever your skin type, we recommend getting one that takes a little time to cook.
There are express facemasks that last five minutes if you’re short on time. However, we do enjoy a mask that takes longer to do its magic so you really get to live the self-care fantasy. We suggest trying one that needs to be on for 20-30 minutes and the fancier in colour the better.
When you’re going to be spending so much time indoors you’ll want to make your environment nice, relaxing and free from all that bad juju.
Now, it’s an actual scientific fact that lighting a candle fixes all your life problems. We promise.
If you already have a candle, buy another, buy 5, buy 20 – it’s one of the most important essentials.

If you’re like us, you simply cannot survive without your obnoxiously large iced coffee.
Up until this point, we also didn’t own a coffee machine so if you are not prepared then it’s time to GET prepared. The other pro of this purchase is that you can make espresso martinis at home and okay fine, that’s the real reason why we’re buying a coffee maker.
Your Netflix account is probably going to get a good workout during this time but we really recommend getting yourself a good book (or 10). It also means you won’t have to fight over the remote with your partner, roommate or kids if you don’t live alone.
If you’ve had a few on your list, this is a great time to check them off. We would suggest looking towards reading a series so you have a few you can churn through. It will also stop you from becoming a mindless zombie watching reruns of Grey’s Anatomy for the seventh time but we’re not judging.
The fact that you don’t need to leave the house means you can stay in your dressing gown for the whole day. You have our full permission.
If you don’t have one, well then, the time is nigh to get your hands on one. You will not regret it.
As we said, we want to avoid being a couch zombie 24/7 during this time so get up and get moving! Exercising is not just good physically but emotionally too and we could all use some good endorphins.
Get yourself a gym mat and look up some at-home online fitness routines. There’s a wide range online and a vast majority offer free trials so you can give them a red hot go before you commit.

We have literally always wanted to do one of these incredibly large puzzles but never had the time. Well, party people, we’ve got the time now.
It’s a fun activity that will get your brain juices flowing and give you a cute li’l achievement by the end of it. It’s also something you can do with anyone you’re self-isolating with.
Self-isolation presents a great opportunity to expand your cooking and baking skills. We know for ourselves that we’ve been recycling the same four recipes over and over again so take the time to teach yourself something new.
Whether you want to make cupcakes with the kids (or for yourself, that works too) or learn how to make pies, it’s a super fun and also efficient way to spend your time.
Plus, if you make anything in bulk you can freeze it for dinners or lunches later in the week to save time for any other activities you plan on.
