Psychedelic rhythm shooter Rez Infinite blasts onto PC
Shoot through cyberspace in gorgeous 4K.
Rez Infinite, the previously PS4-only rail shooter that also serves as a remarkably accurate hallucinogenic simulator, has made its surprise debut on the PC today.
A semi-sequel to the original Rez on PS3, Rez Infinite takes you on a trippy journey through a wireframe computer network infested with all manner of polygonal foes. Blasting enemies involves the standard lock-on mechanic common to games like Star Fox and Panzer Dragoon, but when combined with Rez Infinite’s vibrant visuals and thumping beats, it creates an intense experience that remains the pinnacle of the genre to this day.
In making the jump to PC, Rez Infinite now supports resolutions up to 4K at 60fps – provided your rig can handle it, of course. There’s also optional VR support for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift headsets, and with Rez Infinite touting the highest score of all PSVR games on Metacritic, virtual reality is definitely the way to experience Rez at its most intense.
Rez Infinite is currently available for approximately £14.99 thanks to a 20% launch discount on Steam.
