What is NOW?

NOW is a subscription service from Sky. It launched in the UK in 2012 and features content released on Sky channels, including The Undoing via Sky Atlantic and Premier League football via Sky Sports.

According to Finder research from our latest industry report Lockdown and chill: How streaming won 2020, 12% of Brits used NOW to stream in 2020. And in the next 12 months, approximately 7% of Brits are thinking about signing up to the service.

How much is NOW?

When you visit the NOW site, you are asked to choose which TV Pass you would like to take out. The 7 day free trial is available before you pay any fees, but after this period, what you pay will depend on the pass or passes you choose to create your own bundle:
  • Sky Cinema: £11.99 a month.
  • Entertainment: £9.99 a month.
  • Kids: £3.99 a month.
  • hayu: £4.99 a month.
  • Sky Sports Day Pass: £9.99.
  • Sky Month Pass: £33.99 a month.
  • Boost: £3 a month.

How does NOW work?

Before streaming, you will need to select the TV Pass you wish to take out. After this you will have access to all the content available for your pass, and there’s no contract – you cancel at any time.

How do I cancel NOW?

If you wish to cancel your pass with NOW, all you need to do is log in to your account and visit the passes section. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees, so you can cancel and even restart your pass at any time. If you’ve signed up to more than one pass, you’ll need to cancel each one separately.

What channels are on NOW?

Again, this depends on the pass you choose.

The NOW Entertainment pass has 16 channels you can watch either live or on-demand. These are: Sky One, Sky Witness, Sky Atlantic, GOLD, Comedy Central, Sky Comedy, SYFY, Sky Crime, Sky Arts, FOX, Discovery, MTV, Challenge, Pick, Nat Geo Wild and VICE.

The NOW Sports pass offers specialised coverage of a huge variety of sports, with other channels dedicated to major events and news. These include: Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Football, Sky Sports Cricket, Sky Sports Golf, Sky Sports F1, Sky Sports Action, Sky Sports Arena, Sky Sports Racing, Sky Sports Mix and Sky Sports News.

The NOW Cinema Pass is great for movie buffs, with 11 channels including: Sky Cinema Premiere, Sky Cinema Hits, Sky Cinema Greats, Sky Cinema Disney, Sky Cinema Kids Books, Sky Cinema Action, Sky Cinema Comedy, Sky Cinema Thriller, Sky Cinema Women in Film, Sky Cinema Monsters and Sky Cinema Superheroes.

The NOW’s Kids pass includes six dedicated children’s channels. These are: Boomerang, Cartoon Network, Cartoonito, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr and Nicktoons.

Lastly, the hayu Pass gives viewers access to hayu, the home of reality TV such as Keeping Up With The Kardashians.


How many devices can you have on NOW?

You can watch NOW on over 60 different devices. You can download the NOW app from NOWTV.com, download the to watch on the go, or you can buy the NOW Smart Stick to watch NOW content on more devices.

In terms of devices per account, you can add up to six devices, and watch on two devices at the same time (three if you have NOW Boost, or just one smartphone if you only have a Sky Sports Mobile Month Pass). Once you’ve added devices up to your maximum, you can make three changes to your devices each calendar month.
