Compare up to 4 providers

The "Verified" ribbon appears on products from providers that Finder works with, and these are subject to further checks by Finder. However, all the brands we show in our comparison are on the government's list of providers meeting minimum standards for performance and safety.

What is MyHealthChecked?

MyHealthChecked is on the government list of private COVID test providers, which means it meets minimum standards for each test type. It’s part of Concepta Diagnostics, a UK-based health company which focuses on helping people to “access quality science so they can make better informed decisions about their health”.

MyHealthChecked supplies tests to Boots and Lloyds Pharmacy, and has completed the second stage of the 3-stage accreditation process run by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), which is the government-appointed lab accreditation body.

What types of COVID tests can I get from MyHealthChecked?

MyHealthChecked is offering “fit to fly” tests, as well as tests for day 2 and day 8 and for Test to Release (day 5 – this only applies in England). The company sells individual tests and packages. All of these tests are done at home using a nasal swab.

What is MyHealthChecked’s refund policy

Orders can only be cancelled up to 12pm the day before dispatch, or returned within 14 days of delivery if the kit is unopened. A refund will be issued within 20 days. Refunds cannot be provided if the test kit hasn’t yet been activated.

MyHealthChecked customer reviews

On the reviews site Trustpilot, MyHealthChecked has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 (last updated October 2021) and that’s based on over 1,700 customer reviews. Many customers praise the company’s efficiency, clarity and ease of use. Among the negative reviews, one cited missing a flight due to not receiving a test, while another concerned issues getting in touch with customer service.

Are MyHealthChecked tests accurate?

Since MyHealthChecked appears on the government’s list of COVID test providers, it meets the minimum safety standards required to provide the service.

On its site, MyHealthChecked boasts 99.9% accuracy for its tests.

It says its laboratories are custom-built; they’re based in Manchester and operate under ISO 15189 standards (which is a regulatory standard for medical labs to maintain competence).

How long does it take to get results from MyHealthChecked?

MyHealthChecked says it will return COVID test results to you within 24-36 hours. That covers PCR fit to fly, day 5, day 2 and day 8 tests. There are no rapid test services available currently.

How much do MyHealthChecked tests cost?

A fit to fly PCR costs £65. Day 2 and day 8 tests each cost £68, or £136 together (so no saving there, unfortunately). Test to Release costs £78 and all tests come with free UK shipping.

Pros and cons of MyHealthChecked

Pros

  • Government-listed private test provider
  • Free delivery
  • Fast turnaround
  • Trusted by Boots and Lloyds Pharmacy

Cons

  • No live chat on site
  • No discount when you buy day 2 and day 8 tests together

Our verdict: Is MyHealthChecked any good?

Everything we’ve seen suggests that MyHealthChecked is a solid choice for COVID testing. Its website is clear, informative and well presented. We’ve seen cheaper providers, but you tend to get more reliable service from slightly pricier companies. Based on customer reviews for this provider, you can expect to get the quoted turnaround time of 24-36 hours, with few exceptions.

If you plan in advance, it seems very likely that MyHealthChecked will deliver the service it promises in the timeframe it promises. It’s also been entrusted with the provision of much of the Boots and Lloyds Pharmacy COVID testing services, which is a reassuring signal.
