Why we love this product
Hair Recipe is the new shampoo and conditioner brand on the block. The brand launched at Priceline on 1 October, and I’ve heard nothing but good things, so I was very keen to give these new products a go.
I’m a bit fussy with my shampoos and conditioners. I’ve religiously only used Shu Uemura or Redken for about five years – yes, I am one of those people who spends £25 on a bottle of shampoo. And I must say that these new Hair Recipe products lived up to everything I would expect from a premium shampoo and conditioner.
The range is inspired by superfoods with a honey and apricot shampoo and conditioner set, a kiwi and fig set, a honey and apricot mask and a strawberry and mint cleansing shampoo. Each of these products has been co-developed by nutritionists and hair experts, and the ingredients have been carefully selected for their powerful nutritional properties.
My particular favourite from this range was the strawberry and mint cleansing shampoo. This shampoo is designed to be occasionally swapped out for your regular shampoo to ensure your hair is properly cleansed of hair product build-up.
I have quite curly hair and, as a result, need to use some hardcore, industrial-grade hair smoothing and anti-frizz products to keep everything in check and stop myself from resembling Cousin It. So by the time I need to wash my hair, its a matted mess of mousse and sprays.
The strawberry and mint shampoo managed to clean all the product build-up out of my hair better than any other shampoo I’ve tried. My hair had never felt so clean! And one of the added bonuses is that my smoothing products actually started working more effectively – go figure.
These products sit in the premium range – they’re not a supermarket brand. At about £12 a bottle, they’re reasonably priced for the premium category.
