Whether it’s all about a sharp beard, smooth hair or the perfect smile, health and styling appliances are key to achieving that desired look.
There are many styling brands on the shelves so we think it’s important you get the opinion of the people who matter most: the customers who’ve used the products. We asked customers of the major health and styling appliance brands to tell us about their experiences. Now we can reveal how they rated them.
Our awards are designed to find health and styling appliance brands that excel in 5 categories: value for money, reliability, performance, customer satisfaction and whether they’re worth a recommendation to a friend. The winners had the highest average score on all these categories combined.
Best Health & Styling Appliance Brand Joint Winner:
Braun
Braun cut ahead of the crowd and landed joint top spot. The brand received an overall customer score of 4.5 stars out of 5, and 88% of consumers would recommend its products to a friend.
Braun started off in Germany as a radio manufacturer, but expanded its product range and by the 1950s had manufactured its first electric razor. The brand now has a range of shaving, grooming, beauty and health products for both men and women.

Wahl
Wahl also trimmed away the competition and came out joint top. The brand received an overall customer score of 4.5 stars out of 5, and 88% of consumers would recommend its products to a friend.
Wahl is an American brand famous for its clippers and trimmers. Many barbers swear by its products to get that ultimate skin fade or sharp moustache.

Customer star ratings methodology
In June 2022, we ran a customer survey about well-known health and styling appliance brands. 1,301 people responded and gave us their opinion on their shavers, beard trimmers, electric toothbrushes, hair curlers, hair straighteners and hair dryers, which they had purchased in the last 2 years.
The survey asked respondents about their experience with the product they owned and used. They were asked if they found their health and styling appliance as being value for money, if it was reliable, if it performed well and if they were satisfied with their overall experience (using a 1–5 rating). They were also asked if they would recommend the brand to a friend.
We converted the responses into overall customer score star ratings and used these results to decide our award winners. Where there was a draw in terms of star ratings, we used the recommendation score (the percentage of customers who said they would recommend the brand to a friend) as a tie-breaker.
