Does NatWest offer a joint account?

Yes, NatWest offers a number of joint bank accounts for 2 people. You’ll be able to do everything you can with a sole account, but you’ll share control and responsibility of your joint account with someone else.

Each account holder will get a debit card, and can manage the account online, through the app, over the phone or in branch.

As NatWest is a licensed UK bank, your joint funds will be protected up to £120,000 per person under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

Which accounts are joint?

These NatWest accounts let you add a second account holder:

  • Select account
  • Reward account
  • Premier Select account
  • Premier Reward Black account

For more information on each of these accounts, take a look at our guide to NatWest current accounts. Also note, that NatWest’s Premier accounts have strict qualifying criteria.

There’s also the option to open a joint savings account with NatWest, as long as you are both existing customers.

How do I get a joint account with NatWest?

You won’t be able to apply for a joint account together. Instead, one of you must open a sole bank account and then add the other person to it once it’s up and running. If you already bank with NatWest and the account qualifies as a joint account, you can simply add the second person to the account.

You can open a joint account with anyone you want to share your finances with, whether that’s a friend, partner or flatmate. Accounts can be opened online.
