Clearpay games consoles: Buy Nintendo now and pay later

If you want to buy a new games console but can't pay for it upfront, you can shop now and pay the balance later with Clearpay.

With a pay later service like Clearpay, you can shop now and then pay off your goods in regular instalments. If you enjoy gaming, you can use Clearpay to buy the latest Nintendo Switch console.

But fans of Xbox or Playstation will have to use another way to pay as none of Clearpay’s current retail partners sell these consoles. We’ve listed stores selling online gaming products and highlighted those selling the Switch pack.

How does Clearpay work?

When you shop with Clearpay, you don’t have to pay for your goods upfront. Instead, your payment is split into 4 equal chunks. You pay the first at the point of purchase and the other 3 payments over 2-week intervals. No interest is charged and there are no fees to pay either unless your payment is late (there’s an initial late payment fee of £6 and a further fee of £6 if the payment is still unpaid a week later). Check out our full Clearpay review.

  • Warning: Late repayments can cause you serious money problems. For help, contact MoneyHelper.

What happens if I want to return the console I bought using Clearpay?

If you want to return your games console bought using Clearpay, you must follow the returns policy of the retailer you bought the product from. This information can usually be found on the retailer’s website. Once the refund has been processed, it will automatically be shown on your Clearpay payment schedule and the refund added to the card you paid with.
