Amazon Prime FAQs

What items are eligible for free prime delivery?

Any item marked as with the prime logo is eligible for free next day delivery.

What is release-date delivery?

Amazon Prime members can take advantage of release-date delivery on select video games, movies, books, music and more by placing an order at least two business days before a product releases. You will receive your order the same day it releases.

How do I qualify for same-day delivery?

Same day delivery is available to people with delivery addresses in the areas of greater London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and more. To be eligible, orders must be placed before noon.

What forms of payment does Amazon accept?

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Amazon gift cards

What is Amazon’s returns policy?

Amazon accepts returns both when the item you ordered is faulty and when you simply change your mind.

For faulty items, Amazon advises initiating a refund within 30 days of delivery. It will still consider providing a refund, replacement or repair if you apply for a refund outside of that 30-day window, but your eligibility will be decided on a case-by-case basis. If Amazon determines that the fault was a result of mishandling or mistreatment on your part, you will not be eligible for a refund.

If you want to return an item because you’ve changed your mind, you must return the item in its original, unopened packaging within 30 days of delivery. Any shipping costs incurred during the original order won’t be refunded.

Is Amazon Prime Video any good?

Amazon’s video platform launched in 2006 in the US, but took off in 2011 in the UK when Prime members got access to over 5,000 movies and shows as part of their existing subscription.

In terms of popularity, Finder surveyed 2,000 Brits in December 2020 and found that 38% streamed content on Amazon Prime Video – the service was most popular with generation X (44% of those born between 1965 and 1980 said they’d used it, in our poll). And looking forward to 2021, 17% admitted they are considering signing up to the platform. The service is second only to Netflix in the streaming wars in the UK, and over the next 12 months, we expect this gap to close further.
